And that was the last chapter already!
I don't have much to say to you, other than thank you :). If you made it this far that's incredible and I can't thank you enough for sticking with me until the end.
It was very frustrating every now and then to write, but I managed to keep going and actually finish it. I can't tell you how much good that did to my self-confidence.
I mentioned in the preface that I started this to practice my dialogue-writing-skill. I think I've improved. Compared to dialogue in previous stories there's simply more of it.
I used to write conversations (and scenes in general) very bare. Only what I needed to be there to advance the plot was there. That made the overall story very short and not very immersive. To me, they looked and read like very detailed outlines.
I definitely didn't perfect conversation, but I made a step in the right direction. That's something to be happy about. Obviously my writing skill is going to take years upon years upon years to reach a point that I consider as 'perfect' (which is a subjective thing).
Luckily I don't hate writing. Slow and steady wins the race! Bit by bit I'll get better. Practice makes perfect after all, whatever perfect means to you.
I'm currently working on another story. That one will have more than just dialogue :). The working title is 'Dots and Zeros', but that might change in the revision process. I hope I can finish it before the end of the summer and get it ready to upload.
The red line of the story (as of now): Sam starts reading the diary their mom is reading after moving to a new house. They figure out it doesn't belong to their mom, and start a search for their dad with their new friend.
I've been working on it since February. I like to have it completely done before I start uploading it. I'd hate to stop mid-story and leave readers hanging because I lost interest. This also allows me to make sure I can't miss a deadline because there's nothing to upload.
I hope to be able to start uploading it soon after this one's up.
Update: it's on my account now!
Anyway, maybe I'll see you around? (I have more stories on my account :D)
Bye!
