Always Protected

Everyone stood around the small room. "How do you know eachother?" Chifuyu ask looking between his two friends and the girl.

"They helped me." She answered looking at them.

"More like beat a guy off you." The taller one covered her answer.

"I never even got your names." She turns to the two.

"I'm Sano Manjiro but just call me Mikey." The smaller says then point at the taller one, "That's Draken."

"I'm Hordi Rain." She says to them.

"Your wrist isn't still hurt is it?" Draken ask.

She lifts her arm to show the now yellow bruise. With a smile she says, "Almost gone."

"I didn't even see that!" Chifuyu says holding her wrist lightly, "What happened?"

"A drunk pervert." Mikey answers his question quick.

After that everyone went quite. Rain quickly cleared her throat and looking at Chifuyu. His blonde hair a mess with some spots of blood in it from the night before. His undercut can be told by looking at it will need to be recut unless he is growing it out. His clothes a mess with rips and blood as well. "Would you wanna shower before you left?" She asked. "My dad has some clothes here. They will be a little big on you but they are clean."

"No ill shower when I get home myself." He smiles at her.

"Ok well make sure you keep the cuts clean and make sure the knot on your head keeps going down. If it gets worse head to the hospital." She instructed. He nodded at her and then the three left saying their good byes.

Outside the door she heard Draken tease Chifuyu. "Taking orders from someone new now?"

"Shut up." Chifuyu says before getting out of ear shot.

She smiled to herself at the antics of the two and turned to the sofa that he slept on the night before. She expected to clean up after him but to her surprise it was already cleaned up. How she had not noticed until now was mystery.

Looking at the couch she noticed a few stains of blood and ironically smiled at it. Why she did, she didn't know. Walking to the closet to grab cleaning supplies to get the stains out. She grabbed a bottle of peroxide and a towel. Going back to the gray couch she sat down on the floor next to the cushion and poured a small about on the blood. Letting it sit for the time it needed she then cleaned it up.

As she cleaned it up she heard her phone ringing. Looking at the contact it was her boss. "Hello?" She answered.

"Hi sweetie I know it's your day off but we had Enji quit today is there anyway you could cover his shift tonight?" Her boos asked in her normal sweet tone. "You don't have school tomorrow do you?"

"I don't it's the weekend and I don't mind." Rain answered. "At nine is when his shift would start right?"

"Yes ma'am." Her boss answered.

"I'll see you tonight!" Rain replied before they ended the call. She easily was able to get the stains out and made her way to her room. Looking at the time it was one pm. She had time to get a little sleep before the night shift.

It was the first night shift her had done in a while so when she first arrived she felt a little disoriented but to being up late when usually she'd be asleep but she had constantly repeated to herself I can do this.

The restaurant was weirdly empty for a Saturday night. She had gotten there and her boss was helping the second shift clean up some so they could leave. "Your here!" She chimes as she notices Rain walk in. Quickly she dries her hands of water and walks up to the young girl.

"I told you I would be." She smiles going into the back of the restaurant.

"I promise I'll pay you extra for tonight." Her boss whispered to her.

She knew she couldn't convince her boss not to do that so she just stayed quiet. After everything was cleaned up the second shift had headed out leaving Rain and one cook in the back. A couple minutes into the shift the door chimed telling someone had walked in. Looking up she saw two guys. One with black hair with his bangs bleached and the other with black and yellow hair.

"Welcome sit where you'd like!" She called across the restaurant. She grabbed what she needed and walked over to the table they chose. "How are you today?" She asked politely to the men. One just straight ignored her while the other smiled at her.

"Ignore him he is an ass." The one that smiled said. She giggled at the comment and went on to take their orders. She walked away to turn in the order and grab drinks and couldn't help but over hear the conversation between them.

"So we are going at them in a couple of days right?" The shorter male asked.

"Yes we are gonna take the scum and bring them down to where they belong." The taller answered.

She knew it wasn't professional to ask what it was that a customer was talking about while she worked so instead she just dismissed the conversation and continued on as normal. She quickly served the food to them and let them eat in peace.

The shift went on as normal. It ended up picking up a lot the further in the night it became. When morning finally came exhausted was an understatement for her. She just wanted to go home and currle in her bed and sleep the day away. She was supposed to had worked the Sunday second shift but because she covered her boss was able to let her have the day off so she didn't have to worry of another shift.

Clocking out of work she started her walk home. The air nice and cool and not to hot. She was happy about that due to she didn't want to walk home in over bearing heat. The birds sang beautifully as she passed the town giving her a good morning song to listen to.

As peaceful as she thought the morning would be it changed the minute she got to her floor. Outside her door stood Mikey and Draken with someone being heald up by them. Blood ran down the guys head along with the many cuts along his body being visible by ripped clothing. She ran up to him in shock, "What happened?" She asked quickly unlocking her door to let them in.

"He was attacked," Draken says as they walk in after her, "Can you help?"

"Yes lay him on the floor." She says quickly running to go get her medical supplies.

After a while of getting the guy cleaned up and bandaged she gave him some pain medication to help him sleep. The guy quickly fell asleep afterwards. She grabbed a pillow and blanket and placed the pillow under his head and the blanket over him. She let out a loud yawn catching the two guys attention that sat on the floor with her.

"Get some sleep." Mikey says to her.

She nods as she gets up on her feet. She walks to her closet and grabbed extra blankets and walks back in the living room. "Stay if you want and get some sleep or leave I don't mind but you both look just as tired as I feel." She says handing them the supplies, "My father's room will be empty if you wanna crash in there. It's the first door on the left in the hall. I'm in the one on the right and the bathroom is straight down. Food is in the kitchen if you get hungry."

She would have continued if it wasn't for Draken, "We get it now go sleep." With another nod she walks into her room. This time leaving the door unlocked.
