Always Protected

When the two walked inside he helped her back into bed. With her leg being in a full cast it was hard for her to get into bed due to the weight of the cast along with her leg. After she sat on the bed he gently raised her leg up and laid it on the bed. "Comfy?" He asked as she wiggled into a comfortable position.

"Yes." She sleeply smiled at him.

"I'll go so you can rest." He rubs her arm lightly.

"Please don't leave." Her voice a whisper, "Please don't leave me again."

"Rain I would never leave you." He crouched down to where his face was level with hers.

"Promise?" Her voice almost as a child would ask.

"Yes I promise." He smiled at her.

She reached out and gently held his face with one if her hands, her thumb rubbing up and down his side burn and over his ear. He stayed like that untill she fell asleep, easily catching her falling hand as it slid down his face. He carefully placed her hand at her side before standing up and walking out into the living room. He saw everyone asleep except for Mitsuya, who was grabbing keys ready to leave.

"Heading out?" Chifuyu asked.

"Yea gotta get home to the wife," he opens the door, "She can't get the baby to sleep."

"I'll walk you out." Chifuyu slides on his shoes and follows behind making sure to leave the door unlocked for him.

"She finally asleep?" Mitsuya asked as the walked down the stairs.

"Yea she is," Chifuyu chuckled, "I don't think she'll be awake for a while. She has had a lot happen."

"Yea she has," Mitsuya agreed, "She is strong though. She'll be able to make it. She also has all of you. She is going to be safe."

"I hope we can keep her that way." He added on to the sentence.

"You will," Mitsuya reassured him as the reached the ground, "As long as you are there she will always be protected."

"Your talking like it's me solo." A smile danced Chifuyu's lips, "She also has Mikey and the others."

"She does," he agreed unlocking the truck doors when the reached it, "But I believe as long as she has you that's what matters "

"Man what is up with everyone being sappy tonight?" Chifuyu asked not really looking for an answer.

"Your the one in love," Mitsuya poked at his chest, "We are all just trying to help."

Mitsuya's phone rang to life as his wife was calling him again and he quickly answers. After a few seconds and words exchanged he hung it up. "Get home to her. Don't worry we got it from here." Chifuyu patted Mitsuya's back. "Tell her I said hi."

"Will do," Mitsuya climbed into the truck, "Now go take care of your own girl."

Chifuyu nodded at him as he brought the truck to life and left the parking lot for the apartments. Chifuyu took a second to stand there and think over Mitsuya's words. Go take care of your own girl. It rang in his head like a broken record. "My girl." Chifuyu whispers to himself having a bright smile on his lips.

Once back in the apartment he quietly shut the door and made sure to lock it behind him. He kicked his shoes off to the side to join the others and walked through the apartment. Mikey asleep on the couch as Baji was laid out in the chair. The only one missing being Draken, who he saw passed out in the extra room.

Walking into Rain's room he saw her still asleep. He stripped himself of the pants he wore that day and redded his body of the clothes down to his boxers. Quietly slipping on a pair of shorts he had in a bag he climbed into bed as well. 

After he laid down and got the cover over him he instantly felt movement from Rain. Looking over she saw her struggling to get comfortable due to her cast and he noticed she was trying to get to him. Sitting up slightly he picked up the casted leg and held it slightly up waiting for her to get settled again.

Once she did he softly laid her leg back onto the bed and laid back down himself. She ended up crawling herself into his side where she had gotten so use to sleeping these past couple of months. She would currle herself into a small little ball and glued herself at his side in her sleep.

He wrapped her up into his arms protectively and rested his head on her head, pulling her as close as he could manage without making her uncomfortable. She hummed in delight at the warmth his body was giving off.

"My girl," He whispered softly before finally closing his eyes as well and joining her in sleep.
