The weekend came and she hadn't run into the two guys who had saved her. Part of her had wished to see them again to give a proper thank you sense she wasn't shaken with fear any more. The bruise on her writs was no longer the angry purple but now a soft yellow. It was almost completely healed and she was so ready for it to disappear. She had gotten tired of telling people she fell and hurt her hand. If she was to tell the truth many people would be worried of her continuing to work at the restaurant.
With it being a Saturday she didn't have to worry about school and she was lucky to have the day off also. A rare combination she got to have. Usually she would have school and no work or vice versa. But lucky for her it's her senior year and it was much more laid back for her to be able to both work and a full time student.
She decided she would go out to town and do some grocery shopping as her father was passed out of the couch with a empty bottle in his hand. Her mother had passed away a year ago and since her death her father had broken. He drank any chance he got. Leaving Rain to take care of the home and him as well. She had always been a head strong and independent girl so she believed that it wasn't a big deal when her father quit his job but when it came to her caring for everything she realized just how much stress it was for her parents. Part of her felt sorry for her father and believed that he was doing what he needed to heal while the other believed he still needed to be a father.
She put on a long sleeve black shirt with a small little bunny in the middle of the collar and a pair of blue skinny jeans. Wearing her slippers through the house* she made her way to the front door to put on her white shoes. She makes sure to grab her small back pack the held everything she would need before walking out and locking the door behind her.
The sun stood hight in she sky giving off a warm feeling as soon as she stepped outside. She lived is an apartment complex with her father. They lived on the third floor, not to high up but also not to low. She walked her way down the steps and onto the sidewalk. She hummed to herself a soft melody that her mom use to sing as she walked. It was getting close to fall so the wind nipped just a little as it blew past her, glad she wore a longsleeve this day.
She made her way to the shopping district and started to look around at all that was offered in the stores. She for sure needed food for the next week for her to take for school and make for dinner until the next weekend when she would have enough money again to do the process over.
It had been like this sense her mother passed. She would save enough money from work and tips to pay for food for the week for both her and her father and the weekend she would go out and shop for what they would need. She cooked all the meals and most of the time had to wake her father up to eat. One thing she refused to do was buy her father alcohol. She wasn't sure how he paid for it with no job but as long as it wasn't her money she didn't care. She refused to supply someone's addiction.
After the grocery shopping she looked through her left over money and noticed she had more money left over then what she would normally have. "Must have miss counted." She says to herself. She checked through her money to see how much was left. The total came out to be 10,444.84 yen. How she had miss counted this much she didn't know. She had put it back into her wallet to save it incase she would need it for the bills for the apartment or anything. She had started home after tossing her bag back on her back.
She had gotta a few blocks from the appointment when she heard a grunt come from an alley. Being the nosey person she is she couldn't help but look down the alley and see what was happening. She saw a few people standing over what looked like another person.
"Don't do it Rain," She says to herself, "Don't get yourself involved where you don't need to be." She went to walk away but stopped only after a few steps. The sound of someone being hit and grunting still in ear shot.
She slightly turned her head to look at the entrance of the alley biting her lip. "I have to at least try." She turned around and walked back in the alley. She rushed to the noise and saw three men over top a boy. "Stop!" She screamed at the men in gray jackets.
All three looked over at her smiling. "Got you a girl coming to save you?" A guy asked who held the boy in his fist by the collar of his black jacket.
"Get out of here." He says breathless, a trail of blood coming from his lip and nose.
"Leave him alone!" She says towards the guys. Ever sense the day at the restaurant Rain had invested herself into self defense weapons that she carried around with her everywhere. She reached into her pocket grabbing the small two finger knuckles and slipped them onto her hand.
"Wait I remember you." One male said that stood in the back, "Your the bitch from the restaurant." He chuckled and pushed his way infront of the other two. She looked at him and recognized him as the man who sat in the booth while his friend had her backed against the bar. "They have had the restaurant under tight watch so I couldn't come visit you." He had a grin with a evil look in his eyes.
Please just leave him alone and let us go." She continues to try and talk to them. But as expected neither of the three would listen.
She watched as the one dropped the boy onto the concrete and he landed with a loud grunt of pain. Now all three men came at her. Like predators to a prey. She turned to run away from the guys but one of them had caught her before she could start to run. She screamed and turned to hit the man with the hand that held the brass knuckles. She hit him hard on the bridge of his nose and he yelled in pain instantly dropping her.
"Stupid bitch now you fucked up!" He said dropping his hand from his nose. It was a dark purple almost a black color.
Before anything else happened he fell to the ground. She look to see the boy standing there with the other two on the ground behind him. "Thanks for the distraction." He smiled weakly before dropping to the ground himself.
She yelped and ran to him helping him stand. "Come on I live near by." She tosses his arm over her shoulder and helps him stand. She walks slow with him as he struggles to walk. The two slowly make it to safety, her home.
