~ Battle of October 31st Part I ~
It was here, the bloody Halloween battle, and Rain had been ready for it.
She was going to make sure that she would find a way to keep Toman protected and help Baji, even though he denied her.
The boys had noticed her state was happier than usual over the past couple of days, but they weren't really sure as to why.
Just as the gang were preparing to make their way to the agreed upon location of the fight, Mikey and Draken stopped Rain last minute."
"You're staying here." Mikey told her as he stood in her way with his arms crossed and she gave him a curious eyebrow. She thought it was a joke at first. Though when she went to carry on past him, he grabbed her wrist halting her.
"I'm serious Rain, you're not going." He said and she blinked confused as she looked at him.
"What do you mean? I'm part of the first division, I have to-"
"No, you have to do as I say." Mikey said coldly and she clenched her jaw hard.
"Why?" She asked incredulously. She was one of the best fighters among them and had the best endurance by far and everyone knew it, so it didn't make any sense as to why he would keep her out of this fight.
"Because you could get seriously hurt." He said quietly so no one else could hear but Draken.
"That's a joke, right?" She laughed as she looked to the vice-commander, but he seemed to side with Mikey which pissed her off. "I'm a part of Toman, I go where everyone goes. Anyone could get hurt, that's what we've signed up for."
"You don't usually get personal about things, and this one is personal for you." Draken tried to make her understand but she wasn't having it.
"It's personal for all of us!" She exasperated causing some concerns at her outburst. She never disobeyed orders or caused a scene, yet here she was shocking everyone.
"I don't even need to give you a reason, I'm the commander and you do as I say because you are my soldier." Mikey spoke as though she was nothing to him but a mere pawn, and her heart twisted in a way that she hated. He was cold, treating her the way she had been treated in that place and her brain forced her back to those cruel memories which had her grimacing.
He saw that he had hurt her, but that didn't matter. He would do anything to get her to back down, even if it meant treating her cruelly because he would go to any lengths to make sure she was safe.
"Too bad." Everyone's eyes opened at her refusing Mikey, and he looked at her warningly.
"Then you're fired." He said, the words leaving his tongue effortlessly, shocking everyone further.
"Mikey~" Draken warned but he didn't even spare the tatted male a glance as he kept his eyes on Rain.
"If you aren't going to obey your commander, then you are no longer a member of Toman." He stated plainly.
