Takemichi had just been announced as the new first division captain and the tears of joy were still streaming down his face, even after the meeting ended an hour ago.
"Thank you so much Chifuyu!" He cried, snot being blown onto the poor green eyed boy's shirt as he tried to shove him off.
"Gross Takemichi! Get off!" Chifuyu complained as he finally got the boy away from him, opting to hide behind Rain. Takemichi stopped his pursuit as he looked into Rain's ocean blue eyes, trying to gage her reaction to this development.
'Does she hate me now? Does she think I'm trying to replace Baji?' It was a scary thought to him, but when he saw a small smile tug at her lips before she offered him a small bow, he felt like an idiot for ever thinking that.
"You're the only person I would probably accept to take Keisuke's place. I have no doubt you'll do great." She said honestly, and he cried feeling honoured by her words as she's not usually one for praise.
The boy launched forward hugging her, an action which made her flinch, but eventually she gave in and even patted his back in reciprocation. Chifuyu couldn't help but join in on the hug too and they all laughed together.
It was nice to see Rain opening up a little more, showing a little more emotion. Takemichi was happy for her and knew that everyone else was too.
'Baji would've been proud.'
"I have to ask though... did you want the captaincy?" The blue eyed boy asked curiously, but Rain was quick to shake her head.
"I was never born to lead, Takemichi. I've never wanted it." That was all she could manage to say, but the boy seemed to understand and quickly dropped the subject.
"Rain! Come on lets head home!" Mikey called out to her, and she nodded before turning to them once more.
"Oh and, I just wanted to thank you guys for everything you did for me that day. Without you, I wouldn't be here so..." She once again bowed causing both boys to blush as they looked at each other and back to her.
"Thank you."
Takemichi watched as she made her way over to Mikey, a bright smile lighting up his face once she was finally beside him. He held out his hand and she took it, allowing him to pull her closer and Takemichi smiled.
'They deserve it, a happy future. Together.'

Takemichi leaned forward holding his head in his hands as he fought back the tears that were threatening to spill once again.
'How the hell could this happen?'
One minute everything seemed fine, Chifuyu was alive right beside him, and the next...
He was dead.
He couldn't stop the flow of tears this time, crying silently in the back seat of a car. He looked to the front seat to see Kazutora tightly gripping the steering wheel, but what was more surprising was that Rain was beside him, her gaze out the window. Takemichi noticed the scar on the side of her neck. It looked pretty lethal and he couldn't help but wonder what had happened.
