It was the day of Baji's funeral, and Rain could barely hold herself together, though as usual, she seemed okay to everyone else.
The only thing keeping her there was to be a support person for Baji's mother. Rain didn't shed many tears, she had none left after the past few days.
Once the main ceremony was over and everyone began chatting, the dark haired girl avoided everyone, slipping away silently as she made her way down the road.
Mikey had been keeping a close eye on her the entire time, but after looking away for just a moment, she eluded his sight which sent him into a state of panic. Takemichi could see the worry in his dark eyes as they searched frantically for the ocean eyed girl, and it also made him worried.
Rain was just walking aimlessly, thinking to herself about all the events that had happened lately when before she knew it she had ended up outside a familiar apartment complex.
Her breathing hitched slightly as she made her way to the familiar door, taking the spare key she knew was hidden in the flowerpot outside before sneaking into the Baji's residence. It was so quiet, eerily so which was something that she had never experienced in this house before.
She quickly made her way to his room, her heart secretly thinking she was going to see him lying there on his bed reading some magazine like he usually was, but she was met with nothing but silence and emptiness.
The room was just as it always was, clean, but still having a few items scattered around the place. She found her favourite hoodie of his one she had attempted to steal multiple times, and it smelled like him as she held it tightly to her chest.
Memory of her fighting him for it all the time flashed through her mind, and she let out a choked laugh.
Then her eyes caught sight of new pictures on his wall she hadn't yet seen, and her heart constricted so tightly she thought she would die.
They were the pictures his mother had taken of them not too long ago.
"Awww I remember when you two used to fall asleep cuddling when you were little!" Mrs Baji cooed as she continued to snap pictures of the two dark haired teens. Baji stirred lightly, hearing the shuddering of a camera. When he realised what was happening, his eyes widened as he launched at his mother.
"Ma! Quit taking photos of us!" The dark haired boy yelled causing Rain to wake up suddenly rubbing her eyes. She wondered what the hell was going on when she saw Baji's mother running away from her son cackling away with her phone in hand and she put two and two together.
"Don't worry, I'll send these to you like you always ask me to." She revealed and Baji went bright red at his mother outing him and covered his face as he sat at the dining table in defeat.
