Theo (L/N), nearing the end of his midlife, had lived it with many regrets. Ones which that he would kill for, just to change the outcomes.

He regretted the death of his wife. It should've been him, who had gotten hit by the car—not her. She was the love of his life, and she had been mercilessly ripped from him.

Another regret of his, was how angry he had grown over the years after her death. Mostly at himself, but especially for the way he directed his anger onto his daughter. She reminded him too much of her. He couldn't help it—your mannerisms were too alike.

But the one thing he regretted most?

His biggest regret, was that he never got to say goodbye to his children, (Y/N) and (B/N). Hell— he couldn't even remember the last time he told the two that he loved them.

Since the two miraculously disappeared without any trace, three years had slowly and excruciatingly gone by. At first, Theo had relentlessly searched for the two of you.

He hired watch parties; he contacted many chiefs of police; he had even taken it to higher forces.

But after a year, everybody gave up. They just.. stopped. And the two of you? You were reported as dead.

Theo had reluctantly accepted it, despite all his grief. Maybe you two had been involved in a tragic accident; he lost all hope of your survival.

Until approximately a month ago. He'd come into contact with his daughter once more.

The house was the equivalent of a ghost town. The once bustling hallways were now bare; the chaotic kitchen fell into silence; the rooms his children had once lived in had collected dust.

He couldn't forget the mornings before school, especially. His son would already be halfway out the door, whilst his daughter would cry out, running down the stairs in a panic—her hairbrush tangled in her hair.

But now? Every morning was met with a deafening silence.

Theo was alone. He was living in a house fit for a happy family—one whom which could eat dinner together, go on family vacations, and grow close.

It was torture. Theo couldn't escape it. He was all alone. And he had nobody to blame, not even himself.

The one memento he had of his children, was a family portrait that his son had framed in the hallway—that was it.

Following their sudden disappearances, he occasionally kept in contact with his daughter's best friend's parents—Miguel and Evelyn Lopez.

Other than his coworkers, they were all he had. They were the only ones who could sympathize with him, for they had lost their son, Eli, as well.

Throughout the past three years, he remained at his current career—working as a mechanic in a nearby service shop. He'd worked there for twenty years, and it was the only sense of routine he had in his life anymore.

He always replayed the day his twin children disappeared.

It's a day that'll haunt him for as long as he lives.
