If you had a dollar for every time you woke up in a hospital bed with you being confused and injured as hell, you'd only have two bucks.

When you think about it, in the grand scheme of things, it wouldn't be that much. But if you take into consideration the circumstances of being in the godforsaken Taisho Era, and that demons were alive, and that you were only 15, it's pretty concerning.

Forcing yourself to crack your tired eyes open, the wooden ceiling stared back at your confused and half conscious figure.

You inwardly let out a sigh of relief. At least this time, you weren't underneath a white and dusty sheet. So one thing was for sure, you most definitely didn't pull a zombie again.

Averting your gaze down to your arms, the first thing you notice is that multiple IVs are stuck right into the flesh itself.

You immediately shot up like a bullet, letting out a screech of alarm, "UWAAAHHH, WHAT THE- GET THESE OFFF!!!" You felt a slight pinch once you yanked them out, with small droplets of blood following.

You slammed them on the ground, before cursing at them relentlessly, "DIE, NEEEEDLLLESS!! DIIIEEEEE!!"

Although, you soon regretted shooting up so quickly, as you started to get some vertigo. You let out a wince once a shockwave of pain courses through your body.

You plopped back down onto the bed, panting heavily. Soon enough, you felt a familiar little critter scamper up onto your shoulder, before nuzzling itself into your neck.

You turned to face Hoshi, tears pricking your eyes as you smiled to your fuzzy companion, "Hoshhiii.. you're okay.." Hoshi let out multiple small chirps as she continued to rub her cheek against you.

Your eyes then averted down to one of your legs, which was in fact, suffocating within a cast. You widened your eyes, "That's definitely.." You mumbled under your breath sarcastically, "..an amazing look.."

After a few moments, the door to the room slammed open, revealing Kanao, with her violet eyes looking as if they would bulge out of their sockets.

She let out a deep breath, "A-Ah!! You woke up..!!" She quickly made her way to your side, before pushing you back into bed, "You.. you shouldn't be moving right now.. you need to rest.."

Your lip quivered as tears began to fill your vision once more, "K-Kanao.." The girl in question immediately started to panic upon seeing you tear up, causing her to flail her hands, "Are you okay..?! D-Don't cry..! Does something h-hurt? Hold on.. I'll go get Aoi..!!"

Before she could run out of the room, you stopped her, "No.. well yeah.. my whole body hurts but.. that's not why I'm crying.." You sniffled, "Sorry.. the mission was just.." You paused for a moment, before lowering your voice, "..tough.. if that's how I should put it.."
