i finally got into jjk and finished the anime ;) i just started the manga

Just when you'd gotten a chance to kick back and relax—free of your plaguing thoughts and chaotic mishaps, it was only then that you were struck with a heart-dropping realization.

You hadn't noticed it this whole time.

You had completely forgotten the scroll Akari had given you, and it was back at the Butterfly Estate.

In short? You were a complete moron.

At this point in time, you knew the main battle of the arc was drawing closer, and while Tanjirou was improving his skill—you, once more, felt as if you were falling behind.

Well, so was Eli. But honestly? Who would want to be on the same level as him? You were convinced he didn't even know what was going on half of the time.

Groaning, you buried your face into your pillow, resisting the urge to curl up into a ball on your futon and rot until the end of time.

Currently, it was only you and Eli within your shared room at the inn; Tanjirou decided he wanted to spend some quality sibling time with Nezuko.

As you inwardly experienced a moment of exasperation and annoyance directed at yourself, Eli couldn't help but wedge himself into your own personal affairs.

"Okay. So— don't even try to bullshit me. What is it now?" He drawled, messing around with Hoshi.

It was clear to see that she wasn't interested in him whatsoever, yet he continued to persevere for the sake of trying to win her over.

With your face still buried in your futon's  pillow, you exaggeratedly groaned once more—your voice muffled and almost incoherent. "I forgot something important back at the Butterfly Estate, and I'm an idiot."

"That's nothing new," He snorted, only to wince when Hoshi bit at his finger with slight hostility. "Geez! I'm kidding, I'm kidding!"

As a low chuckle rumbled in your throat, you turned to your side, clumsily moving your tousled hair out of your face.

"I've been so focused on allowing Tanjirou to get the development he needed, that I haven't been improving like— at all. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure the battle is near, and I just—"

"Wait— huh? The hell do you mean, the battle is near?! Fuck, man! Can we ever catch a goddamn break!?" Eli argued, throwing his head back with defeat.

Your soft gaze hardened into a deadpan, your brows pinching together—completely unimpressed with his reaction.

With an exasperated sigh, you rolled onto your back, sprawling out as you blankly stared at the ceiling above you. Hoshi quickly took advantage of this, scurrying onto your chest.
