Fresh Start, New Beginnings

Chapter 13

"The next guest to join us on the couch is not a stranger to the spotlight, nor is she shy when it comes to voicing her opinion" Craig the host played up the introduction "Not only is she one of the best actresses of her time she has recently been awarded for her charity work...its Abigail Jenson everybody" Abigail came onto the set, her hair was now poker straight.

Ryan and the rest of OneRepublic were sat on one of the sofas near Craig's desk. Ryan watched as Abigail walked past them "Welcome back to the show, a lot has changed since last time you were here"

"Thanks for having me. Yeah I think I gained a job and lost a husband since last time" Abigail laughed. The audience, Craig and Ryan also laughed.

"Yeah you did" Craig tried to fight his laughter "So Abigail lets not beat around the bush here, I saw a clip from your show and wow the raunchy scenes are on fire"

"What can I say?" A cheeky smile crept across Abigail's face.

"I was wondering, how do you...what about your parents...I mean do you have to tell them what's going to be on the show beforehand or...? What do they think?" Craig asked awkwardly.

"Well to be honest my Mom is fine with it, I mean she is a photographer so she gets that it's just work" Ryan was surprised how easy it was for Abigail to answer such an awkward question "She knows that it's my character doing it not me personally"

"What about your dad?" Craig asks with a smile.

"Yeah I just tell him which shows not to watch" this reply causes laughter from everyone again "It's really funny because my Mom is quite conservative, she's 67, she was staying with me recently and one night just as I was about to go out in a dress, she does this everytime I go out in a dress or skirt...anyway she says 'Are you wearing Panties' Yes Mom 'Big Ones?' Yes Mom big ones 'Well you know you can wear two pair' you see my Mom gets concerned and she's like 'You know how much the paparazzi like them up the skirt shots, they could get a picture of you in your gotgers'..." Abigail copies her Mom's accent.

"In your what?" Craig looks confused he has never heard this word before.

"Gotgers, there like little...she calls it a tong, your thong" Abigail explained.

"And once again you have just wiped my mind clean" Craig laughs. The rest of the audience and One Republic also laugh loudly. Ryan glances over at Abigail hoping no-one would pick up on it, Abigail smiled before looking towards Craig.

"So changing the subject, where do all you guys stand with dating, Zach I know you're married. What about the rest of you Drew?" Craig is still chuckling at Abigail's story.

"Yeah I'm single" Drew answers quickly.

Abigail frowns as Craig moves down the line, she is hoping this isn't going to go where she thinks it's going "Ryan what about you? Are you in the singleton club?" Craig's voice interrupts her thoughts.

"No I'm not" Ryan replies as he unfolds his arms and crosses his knee over his leg "I am actually dating someone" Ryan's reply stuns Abigail, she was secretly hoping he wouldn't mention her and he didn't.

"So Abigail are you dating anyone right now?" Craig finally asked Abigail.

"All I am saying on the subject is its very early days" she giggled, Craig smirked at her reply. He knew the audience and viewers would understand more tomorrow when the Ryan and Abigail's romance is revealed.

"So Abigail you have a new movie coming out in the near future, in which you star along side Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep. I bet you learnt a lot working with them both?"

"Yeah absolutely they are both incredible artists. I was literally in awe of them both for the first few days of filming" Abigail laughed.

"Starstruck?" Craig asked "Let's face it who wouldn't be"

"Yeah absolutely, I felt like a kid at Christmas" Abigail replied "So much talent in one room"

"Are you allowed to tell us abit about the movie?" Craig asked curiously "I know sometimes you get told not to talk about upcoming movies"

"No it's fine, the trailer has already gone out so...yeah its about a young woman during the early 1900's who falls hopelessly in love with a much older novelist, much to the disgust of her mother" Abigail explained "There are a lot of twists and turns along the way too"

"I hear some of the scenes you filmed with Johnny were quite...well how can I put it?" Craig tried to find the right words.

"Raunchy..." Abigail smiled "Yeah they were abit, definately one my dad won't be watching" Abigail's comment causes Ryan and the audience to laugh.

After the interview Craig introduces OneRepublic, they sing Stop and Stare. Abigail watches from the couch with Craig, she finds it hard to distract her eyes from Ryan.

It is around 11.25pm when the show is over and everything is finished. Ryan and Abigail decided to go for a drink, they both knew Ryan would be flying out to Europe in the morning.

"What time is your flight?" Abigail and Ryan were walking to a bar which was just around the corner from the studio. Leroy told them he would meet them there.

"6.15" Ryan replied "I wish I had more time with you" he took hold of her hand.

"Me too but there's nothing we can do about it, you can't cancel your concerts" Abigail frowned "It's only going to be for two weeks"

"Yeah I guess" Ryan walked through around door and held it open for Abigail "What are you going to do when the story comes out tomorrow?" he asked as he found a quiet table in the bar.

"What I always do I guess, answer the questions I want to answer, ignore the ones I don't and hold my head high" Abigail sighed "It's funny how things like this come naturally after a while"
