Fresh Start, New Beginnings

Chapter 23

Abigail's eyes didn't welcome the sunlight peeping through the blind, she winced as she opened her eyes. She tried to move but found herself too tangled in Ryan, he was still sleeping beside her.

As Abigail searched the room she saw all the clothes scattered around the room. Ryan started to stir, his eyes flickered open and he woke with a smile as soon as he saw Abigail's face "Morning" he exhaled as he pulled Abigail closer to him.

"Morning" Abigail replied, she let Ryan hold her for a few moments before pulling away gently "I am starving, do we get breakfast here?" Abigail asked as she glanced at the clock "You know it's 11.20am right?" She asked as she turned back to face Ryan.

"What shit" he quickly got out of bed "I am meant to be meeting the guys at the studio at 10" he cried as he rushed around to get dressed. He grabbed his phone, he quickly glanced at his text message and relaxed "It's ok it's not until tomorrow" he sighed causing Abigail to laugh loudly at him.

"You really need to get your shit together" she teased "One night with a beautiful woman and your mind goes to mush"

"Really, a beautiful woman was in here last night? When did she sneak away?" Ryan joked causing Abigail to sulk "I'm just kidding baby" he laughed

"No that's it now, you better go and track down the other beautiful woman" Abigail got up and tried to walk off. Ryan grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

"Oh look here you are?" He smiled before kissing her and pulling her back onto the bed, Abigail let out a squeal as she fell into Ryan.

It was almost 3pm when Ryan and Abigail finally made it out of the room, Leroy was in the lobby enjoying the company of one of OneRepublic crew members, her name was Dani. She was the stage technician "Hello Abi...Ryan" Leroy smiled.

"Hi Leroy, any messages for me?" Abigail smiled as she walked over to him and lifted the lid on the laptop that was on the table.

"Just Tony, he wants you to call him" Leroy told her "Something about a new script for you to take a look at"

"What script?" Abigail wondered.

"It's for a new movie" Leroy explained, Ryan's eyebrows raised, Abigail had only just finished one movie and she had told him about her new TV series, that she was starting on filming next month.

"Ok I will call Tony now, we are heading out for something to eat" Abigail smiled "I have my cell phone I will call you if I need anything ok"

"Are you sure?" Leroy frowned he was always uneasy about Abigail going out alone.

"Yeah, it's fine it's not like I am completely alone" Abigail closed the laptop lid and put her hand on Leroy's shoulder "I'll meet you later for dinner ok"

Leroy nodded as watched Abigail and Ryan walk out of the Hotel hand in hand "I have never known him to connect with anyone like that, in all the years I have known him"

"You're a friend of his?" Leroy seemed surprised, she didn't seem as old as Ryan.

"He is my cousin" she smiled.

"I see" Leroy glanced back at Abigail who was just walking past the glass window talking and laughing with Ryan.

"So is this the first time you have been in Europe?" Ryan asked curiously.

"No I have been here a few times, Milan, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, London...I love them all, I come a lot when we are promoting new movies. Plus Nick and the Backstreet Boys came over here a lot on tours" Abigail explained.

"Oh yeah of course" Ryan laughed a little "So which is your favourite city?" He asked before stopping in front of a small resturant.

"Paris" Abigail didn't even hesitate "It's the most beautiful city I have ever seen" she gushed "The thing I love about Paris and Milan is that I can walk around like a normal person. I am not widely recognised over here. Not like in London"

"You get your privacy" Ryan smiles "I still find it strange how globally well known you are, I guess being in places like this...its like your own little safe haven"

"Yeah it's great, I mean obviously people know who I am from the movies we promote but on days like this, they aren't as sure. Plus I have also noticed fans from Paris are much more polite and considerate of your feelings"

"No I can't imagine you would find a pysco fan in Paris" Ryan laughed and Abigail did but only a little "Is everything ok?" He knew something was bothering her.

"Yeah fine" Abigail lied, she wasn't sure if now was a good time to tell Ryan about Hendly "Just grateful to be away from pysco stalker fans" she joked as she took a sip of water. Ryan didn't say anything else about fans, he changed the subject when he realised how edgy she was becoming.

"So is there anywhere you would like to visit after dinner?" Ryan smiled as he watched Abigail play with her fork.

"Erm I know the cathedral isn't far from here" Abigail smiled "It's such a beautiful place"

"Yeah ok, sounds great" Ryan seemed happy to visit the cathedral.

"What can I get you to drink?" An Italian waiter approached them "Oh my god you're Lavinia Blackwood...from Hunters, forgive me I mean Abigail Jenson, Lavinia was your character"

"Yes I am" Abigail smiled "And you are?"

"Luca" the man smiled "Sorry I didn't mean to...interupt it's just I have never met a celebrity before, you are my all time favourite actress. I try to keep track with all your work. Could I have a picture with you?" He asked politely.

"Yeah sure" Abigail stood up and posed for a photo with Luca.

"That's Ryan Tedder" an over excited young woman came rushing over "Oh wow, you have no idea how much of a fan I am" the girl gushed "Could I please have your autograph?"

"You were saying about privacy" Ryan chuckled under his breath to Abigail, she smiled before sitting back in her seat.

"Thank you so much, I cannot wait for your concert tomorrow night" she suddenly saw Abigail sat looking at her cell phone "Oh I am so sorry, where are my manners I'll leave you to your date" the girl walked away leaving Abigail and Ryan at the table "Did you see who was having dinner with Ryan? I told you it was true" she whispered loudly to her friend.

Ryan and Abigail had managed to order a drink and meal each before Abigail's cellphone rang "Hello" Abigail frowned as Ryan watched curiously "Oh Nick hi, is everything ok?"

"Yeah everything's fine, it's just I need to tell you something before it is printed" Abigail's heart sank, she wondered where this was going "Me and Liv are getting married"

"What" Abigail choked on her water, Ryan's eyebrows raised "Don't you think it's abit soon" she added "I guess it's none of my business as long as she makes you happy I suppose"

Ryan just stared at Abigail he couldn't help thinking how beautiful she was "I'm in Milan having a late lunch with Ryan" Abigail sighed "Sorry" she mouthed silently to Ryan who smiled, he didn't mind too much.

"Yeah ok I will see you next week, tell Freya I will Skype her when she finishes school later" Abigail ended her conversation with Nick, before returning her full attention to Ryan.
