Chapter 19

Abigail's POV

I knew my Mom was starting to tire from me constant checking my cell phone "He will call when he lands Abigail" she sighs, I see this as a warning and put my phone in my birkin.

"I hope his intentions are honourable" my Mom said out of nowhere.

"MOM!" I choked on my drink.

"I mean it honey, he is a very talented young man who has worked with a range of incredible artists" My Mom spoke as though she knew him.

"How do you know this Mom?" I asked.

"What you think me and your father don't know how to use google" she looked sternly at me.

"You googled the guy I am dating?" I cried in pure horror "I suppose you got Lex to do a background check on hin too" I was less than impressed.

"No of course not, but it's not a terrible idea" she replied, Lee laughed quietly as I cringed. How could she even be entertaining this idea?

"If you do that I will never speak to you again" I didn't mean it, but she frustrates me sometimes.

"Look honey all I am saying is I just hope you know what you are doing, I don't want him to use his relationship with you to promote his new album" as much as I hated to admit it, this had been in the back of my mind too.

"He wouldn't do that Mom, he isn't like that" I try to defend Ryan in a convincing tone, but my Mom knows me better, she puts her hand on mine and squeezes it.

"As long as your sure honey" she smiled weakly, I know she can read my mind. But doesn't force the subject in front of Lee "So Lee how are the plans for your new restaurant coming along" she changed the subject again" I slyly checked my phone. I had a message. I quickly pulled the phone out of my bag and read my message.

'Hey you, just landed in Paris. It's crazy busy here. Hope you're ok, I'll try and call you later, Ryan xx'

'Ok I am just at lunch with my Mom and an old friend, I'll speak soon. Have fun :) Ab's xx' I type a reply and put my phone back in my Birkin, I can feel my Mom's eyes burning into me. I look up and smile at her.

"Well me and Frank are going to be sorry to see you go" My Mom sighed "But you deserve this opportunity, your Mother would be so proud of you honey"

Pain fills my heart as I think about Lee's Mom, she was such an amazing woman. Everyone was so devasted when she died. Especially Lee, he lost himself for about 6 months after her death. Thats when he met Helen, he always says she saved his life. I put my hand on Lee's arm and squeeze it gently. He puts his hand on mine and smiles weakly at me "It's you and Frank I have to thank for all of this" Lee smiled at my Mom humbly.

"No we only gave you a job Lee, you did the rest all by yourself" My Mom smiled.

"Honestly Mrs Jenson I would never have been able to use my inheritance for the restaurant if you didn't give me this job to help me pay my bills" Lee was very grateful to my parents. After his Mom died they always tried to do what's right by him.

"Like I said you are like family sweetie" my Mom smiled "I am just going to see where our meals have got to" she added as she stood up and walked towards the bar. My hand was still one Lee's arm.

"Is everything ok Ab's? " Lee asked, you seem distant, he cupped my hand in his. Suddenly I saw a flash out of the corner of my eye.

"You have got to be kidding me" I gasped as I looked around and saw a man with a mobile phone pointing at us. The flash went off a couple more times before Lee stood up and walked over to him.

"What the hell do you think your doing?" Lee yelled furiously "Get the hell out of here now" he grabbed the guy and dragged him to the door. I looked up and saw my Mom rushing towards me.

"Are you ok honey?" She asked as she put both hands on my shoulders "What a dick" she snapped.

"Mom it's fine really" I tried to brush it off, but it was incidents like this that made me regret my career choices "I'm ok"

"Ok well Max said our meals will be another 10 minutes, are you ok to wait?" My Mom was always very concerned when it came to things like this.

"Yes Mom, he isn't going to ruin our lunch" I smiled weakly, I tried to bury a niggling thought further into the back of my mind.

"Good girl" she smiled as she sat beside me, Lee had now joined us again.

"He won't be coming in here again" Lee sighed "I am so sorry Abi" he apologised.

"It's fine really, it's not like I'm not used to it by now" I replied causally before taking a sip of water. I felt my phone vibrate at my feet, it vibrated more than once so I knew it was a call. I checked the screen and Tony's name was flashing "It's Tony I have to take this"

I got up and walked through the back of the restaurant "Hello"

"Hey baby girl, I have some amazing news" Tony seemed excited "You know that role you auditioned for a few months back, for the new TV show?"

"The one about Vampires?" I wondered curiously, I had auditioned for two shows a few months ago.

"Yeah, well you got one of the main roles" Tony gushed "I have have a copy of your script here, honestly Abi I think it's gonna be huge"

"Wow that's amazing, when do I need to start filming?" I asked, this was the kind of news I had been waiting for. Another long term job to sink my teeth into (no pun intended)

"Not until next month they are just finishing off the legal contracts" Tony sighed "Great news though right?"

"Yeah, but why do I feel there is a catch?" I reply when I hear a shakiness in his voice.

"It's being filmed in Georgia" Tony's reply left me speechless "It's only a few months of filming at a time"

"Ok can I call you later" I didn't want to give him my answer straight away. I needed time to think. I wasn't sure how I felt about uprooting Freya again, and what about Ryan what did this mean for us?
