.  .  .

Yellow was nervous as she walked through the school halls. She really wanted to see Red again and hear his funny jokes... But at the same time, she didn't.

The last time Yellow saw Red was when she dropped off his jacket and ran away. Yellow really started to regret her decision, but, again, the past is the past.

Yellow saw her friends Sapphire and Ruby hanging out near the cafeteria entrance. Yellow joined them, hoping they aren't being all lovey-dovey around eachother. Yellow has had enough of third-wheeling in her lifetime.

"Hey, guys!" Yellow said, approaching her friends.

"Hi!" They both said in unison.

"Guess what we did over our weekend!" Sapphire said. Before Yellow could take a guess, she spoke up. "We went golfing!!"

"Golfing?" Yellow said. "That doesn't sound like something you'd do-"

Sapphire rolled her eyes. "I know, maybe it doesn't, but it was fun, okay? I was able to hit children in the head and not get arrested for it at all!"

"Did she actually...?" Yellow said, looking at Ruby.

Ruby nodded. "She hit thirteen... Only seven of them were on purpose."

Yellow was about to say something when she heard the sound of Red coming over with his crutches.

"Yellow!" He said. "I'm sorry about yesterday-"

Yellow turned around to face her friend. She took a moment to gather her words. "It's uh..."

"You don't have to forgive me, I understand it was shocking..."

Yellow heard Sapphire whisper to Ruby. "oOh~ Drama..."

Yellow turned around and gave her friend a glare so she could shut up. Yellow turned back to Red. "Can we talk later?" She asked.

Red looked at the ground. "Alright... I'll see you later." He said. Yellow watched Red turn around on his crutches and walk away slowly. Yellow felt guilty, but she didn't want to talk about what happened the past day in front of Sapphire and Ruby.

"What was up with you and Red?" Ruby said.

Yellow looked at Ruby and Sapphire. She didn't want to sound rude. "I don't want to tell you guys, sorry." Yellow said.

Before Ruby or Sapphire could speak, the bell rang, and Yellow used that as an excuse to get out of the conversation and to head to her first period.

.  .  .

Yellow made the decision to not sit with her friends inside the cafeteria at lunch and to go sit outside. It was peaceful and nice change of scenery outside. In Yellow's opinion, it was way better eating outside alone than eating inside with many people.

Yellow also sat outside because she knew Red sits outside, since he doesn't like crowds either. Yellow thought lunch would be the perfect time to eat and talk with Red. Not in the halls where other people could listen.

And just as Yellow expected, she saw Red with his lunch tray in one hand, and both of his crutches in another. He was still able to support himself, which Yellow thought was very impressive. Yellow waved at Red when he looked her way. Red hesitated, but he walked over to where Yellow sat on the grass.

"Hey, Yellow!" Red said. He paused. "Uh... Can you help me out here?"

Yellow laughed and nodded. Red put his arm around Yellow's shoulder for support so he could sit down onto the grass.

Yellow opened her lunch box while Red placed his crutches aside. Yellow let her mom pack her lunch the last night, so Yellow had no idea what to expect. Yellow found a large apple that was the size of her hand, and a bologna sandwich with lettuce and mustard.

Red was tapping his foot, staring at his food. Yellow could tell he was uncomftarble. Yellow didn't know what to say, or where to start.

"I'm sorry, Yellow..." Red said. He paused and looked at Yellow. "I'm sorry I never have told you anything about it."

Yellow nodded. She could tell by the look in his red eyes that he was giving a genuine apology. "I accept your apology." Yellow said. She repeated the words she said in her head multiple times. She thinks she sounded like a robot.

Red smiled, and Yellow did too. Yellow looked at Red's boot and her smile faded. She looked back at Red. "Can you now tell me why you broke your leg?"

Red looked at his leg. "Yeah, sure..." He said, fiddling with his thumbs. "You've realized I've been absent from school a lot, right?" Red said.

Yellow nodded. She remembered all the days Red didn't walk to school with her, or be able to hang out and talk with her in the halls.

"Well most of the time..." Red took a breath. "I wasn't actually sick."

"Really?" Yellow said. "How does your mom let you stay home??"

Red smiled. "She let's me stay home in the morning through the time homeroom is, and then she makes me go walk to school."

Yellow raised an eyebrow. "What's the twist here?" She said.

"Well I actually don't go to school."

"Ooh~ We got a bad boy here~" Yellow teased.

Red laughed. "No, it's not like that. I do like school." He paused. "I actually hop out the back window..."

"That was how you broke your leg?" Yellow said.

"Yeah it was, and, uh-"

"Sorry I interrupted you, go on."

Red smiled and sighed. "Okay, so I go out of the back window because I always go to Green's house. I uh- I also go through his bedroom window, too."

Yellow paused for a moment. Come to think of it, she hasn't ever seen Green at school much except for the mornings. "How is Green always home?"

"He just stays at school for the morning, and his father, -Principal Oak- Just fills out his schedule so he won't appear as absent."

Yellow nodded again. "That's kinda smart..."

"It is smart. Wouldn't you like to take advantage of the opportunity of having your father as the principal of your school?"

"I guess... Though I do good in my classes so I don't care much..."

Red smiled again. "I think I would. Though I would never imagine my father as a principal."

"How does Green get educated if he skips all of his classes?" Yellow asked.

"I think he has tutors hired for him."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"You just hang out with Green instead of being at school?" She said.

Red's smile faded. "Don't think of it like that! I really like hanging out with you and some of your friends!"

Yellow smiled. "Some of my friends?"

Red laughed. "Yeah, Sapphire like to annoy me a lot."

Yellow laughed along with Red. She checked her watch. "Oh... Lunch is almost over..." She said in disappointment.

"Oh..." Red said in the same disappointed tone. "Can you help me get up, then?" He said.

Yellow smiled. "Yeah, sure."
