Fafnir Dragous
Jayna
My eyes flutter as I wake up. I look around to find I've been laid in a large bed. The sheets are soft and warm, a plush duvet tossed over me. I sit up, seeing I've been changed out of my dirty clothes. I now wear a simple white dress that covers my arms and ends at my ankles. I take in the expensive looking room. Its mostly white with mint green highlights. The room is far too big for one person to occupy. Even if I tossed my clothes over all the furniture the room would still feel too big.
I notice my dirty hiking boots by the fireplace. There is a fire roaring hot in the fireplace filling the room with a comfortable heat. I glance to the large windows that open to a balcony. I see something I shouldn't be seeing for at least a couple months.
"Snow?" I'm so shocked I say it aloud. It falls in a light dusting that covers the ground. How long was I asleep for? I pull on my boots and throw open the door to the room. I walk out into the extravagant hall. I decide to walk left down the hall, placing a hand against the left wall as I walk. I pass several doors before coming to a staircase. I walk down coming to what looks to be an entrance foyer. There is a hall across the room from me that leads off to somewhere.
A large grand staircase is located in the centre of the room what also tapers off to the left and right. A shrill child's giggle draws my attention to the small girl running through the area from a doorway out of my view. I spot a man chancing after her. He catches her and they tumble to the ground in a fit of laughter.
"Sneaky little devil you are." The man tells her in a voice in instantly recognize.
"Kyle?" I shriek. He stands with the little girl in his arms as he looks at me with wide eyes.
"Jayna." He says with a sheepish smile. "Shit." He mutters.
"Shit!" The little girl squeals loudly with her arms raised over her head. Kyle looks at her with wide fearful eyes.
"No, no, no. You aren't allowed to say that." Kyle tells her quickly.
"But you said it." She argues back.
"That's because it's an adult word only adults can say." He tells her triumphantly.
"But you aren't an adult." Kyle gives the girl a playful glare that makes her squeal in laughter again.
"You shouldn't listen to everything your father says." He grumbles before looking back to me. "Andy, you go hide again." He tells the girl placing her back on the floor. The little girl runs off down another hall. Kyle turns to me with a neutral expression.
"Answers. Now." I tell him as I cross my arms. He nods before sighing.
"I guess to start with, I've been lying to you." He crosses his arms not looking at me. "The supernatural is real. Currently, you are standing in the palace owned by the king of werewolves." I can't help the laugh that I let out. My sides start to hurt as tears gather in my eyes, I laugh so hard.
"I don't know what you smoked, but I want some." I say through my laughter.
"This isn't a joke Jayna, I'm serious." I have never seen him look so serious. "You know it's true. You saw what that guy did to those creatures last night and you saw what Gabie can do." I nibble on my bottom lip in worry. He's right, but none of that could have been real.
"Where are Lest and Gabie?" I ask, suddenly panicked.
"I will explain as much as I can as we find Andy and I take you to them. They're safe." I nod as I follow him down the hall. "The supernatural is very real. We are very different from the ridiculous lore you've been fed though. Those are just stories made by us to throw you off. We are currently on royal pack territory. The royal pack is simply the pack that belongs to the king of werewolves. Though I'm pretty sure Damon prefers Emperor to King.
