Wynnona
Giovanni and I step onto the solid platform of the shuttle. Another damn shopping trip. Odysseus and Athena rush off together hand in hand.
"Be careful!" I shout after them.
"Yes mom!" Odysseus responds before I lose sight of them in the crowd.
"Come on." Giovanni motions me after him. "Let's go find our informant." I nod, pulling the hood of my jacket over my head to cover my face and hair. We walk past several Needledrop guards, who promptly ignore us. Walk by several wanted posters too. They're animated, showing our faces moving. One for me, Giovanni, Jake, and Athena.
"Those are new." I point out, stopping to look at them.
"And freaky." Giovanni finishes, looking at his poster. He looks like a barbarian in the poster, his features set in an intimidating way that I've never seen them in. It's strange, seeing my face plastered across this space market representing me in a way I am not. "Let's get moving." We keep going, weaving through the crowded areas until we reach a quaint little flower shop.
It looks like something from earth, completely out of place among a market in the middle of space. The flowers are from earth with some I've never seen before. I can identify those as alien flowers, likely from Roe's planet and people. I'm standing admiring the flowers when someone checks me from behind me, making me stumble.
"Watch it asshole." I shout after the young man who sprints past me towards the flower shop. He is rather short for a man, barely taller than I am. His hair is a shaggy brown almost blonde colour.
"I apologize for him." Another man says, grasping my shoulders to help steady me. I look at him, noticing his eyes first and foremost. They are purple. And not a light violet like my one eye, but a deep purple that drowns out his pupils almost completely. He wears a very nice suit which is covered in a black velvet pattern. He makes sure I am steadily planted on my feet before rushing after the other man.
"What the hell was that?" Giovanni asks aloud as he checks on me.
"Follow them." Is all my brain can come up with to say, charging across the area to the shop. A woman stands at the entrance, starting to close a barricade. Giovanni runs faster than I do, grasping the barricade with both hands.
"I'm afraid I'm closed young man." She gasps, sounding like we are heinous criminals.
"Could you not spare a moment?" He asks her. I walk into the shop, pulling my hood down.
"Where are they?" I ask her, taking slow steps towards her.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She defends. I corner her against the wall, Giovanni turning off the lights in the shop. I press my forearm against her chest to pin her against the wall.
"I know what they are." I tell her softly. "Who they are." She trembles slightly. I hear the whisper of a knife flying through the air, catching it by the hilt before it can hit me. I turn fully to see the man with the purple eyes standing before me.
"Release her." He says darkly. Finally, I think to myself, you've finally revealed yourselves. I do as he asks, stepping away from the woman as I flip the dagger between my fingers skillfully.
"Mind if I keep this, it's a lovely piece." I say it in a teasing manner, meant to irritate him further. It's the least he owes me after all he's taken from me.
"You will not win this fight Wynnona Allen." He warns me. How sweet of him.
"I brought the god of war to his knees." I spit venomously. I had, had Ares begging for his life at my feet.
"Wyatt, what are you doing?" Giovanni asks from behind me.
"I believe we can be of help to one another." I say, tossing the dagger at his feet as a peace offering. "I can help you find Fatum." His face pales further than the natural complexion.
"How-" I cut him off before he can finish the question.
"I know a lot ofthings, Moarte."
