Briefing
Jayna
I wake the next morning alone. Callum must have left after I fell asleep. I sigh in disappointment. I was hoping he'd still be here so I could admire him for a while longer. That sounds so creepy, but I meant it innocently. I still can't believe he is alive; it seems like a miracle. I get out of bed, getting ready for the day before making my way to the dinning hall for breakfast.
I greet everyone with a smile as I make my way there, everything seemingly having gone back to normal. At least, what was normal for everyone here. I walk past a large set of windows spotting a group of people in the garden. Lyon and Jenna are dancing through the garden as Lyon sings softly to her. I'm honestly happy to see him being less of a porcupine.
He'd explained everything to her from what I've heard. Told her that the only reason he was so cruel to her is, so she'd leave the pack. He feared for her life as an elf living amongst wolves. She seems to have accepted him back with open arms. The way she smiles and laughs as Lyon spins her around the garden tells you just how in love with him, she is.
Flynn sits beside Andreus babying him relentlessly. I'd learned a bit about him, he was the heir to the elven throne, but he was beaten in a trial of combat and kicked out of the elven kingdom. He's extremely kind and planned to end the war with wolves once he took power. Now he's here, living happily with his best friend and mate.
I see Andreus roll his eyes at something Flynn said, standing up to walk away. Flynn is instantly in front of him again, seemingly begging for forgiveness. Andreus then rests his head on Flynn's chest after stepping closer to the flustered man.
"You know, gay wolves aren't as rare as we think they are." Callum says from behind me. I jump slightly, not having heard him approach me. "They're either forced into false mate bonds or kill themselves out of shame."
"And which was Flynn?" I ask, enjoying Callum's company.
"Neither." Callum makes a funny face. "Maybe both. Everyone around him was trying to push him into a mate bond with one of the women of the pack. She ended up finding her mate not long ago and they're friends still. I think she's pregnant right now and plans to make Flynn the child's godfather." A sudden worried look crosses his face. "Don't tell anyone I told you that."
"Promise." I say with a smile and bit of a laugh.
"In any-case, Flynn has always been proud of his sexuality and hasn't let the cruelty from others change him. I'm sure he's over the moon to have finally found his mate after all these years. I know I would have given up."
"You three are a wonder." I tell him honestly as I take in his features in the morning Sun. He's so beyond handsome I don't have words to describe it.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" He asks suddenly breaking my dreamy haze.
"What?" I ask, not knowing what look I'm giving him. He smirks playfully as if he knows exactly what kind of effect, he has on me.
"Come on, Damon and the others are waiting for you." I follow his lead, walking behind him to the dinning hall. Before I can walk into the dinning hall, he stops me.
"There's something I need to talk to you about. Meet me in the garden under the cherry blossom tree after you're done." I nod my agreement as he opens the door for me, letting it close behind me.
Sitting at the table are the usual suspects as well as Willow and her son Simon. Willow is sipping on a large mug of something, moaning as the warm liquid touches her lips.
"Elder Gods I missed coffee." She speaks. Fafnir rolls his eyes at her. Gabie is situated between Lest and Damon, slowly eating her breakfast. I notice that her skin is still slightly pale, her eyes still have black bags under them, but they look like they're just from lack of sleep now. I also take note of the protective aura Damon is putting off. I decide to sit beside Lest who seems much more chill.
