Flashback Continues:
Little ten year old Jaehwan was tired washing the heaps of clothes.
There were barely any people or servants left who would show pity on him. Afterall many have been already punished before too just for trying to help him. And they were not just punishments.
They were utter humiliation that would be worse than death. Hundred whips, heaps load of labour work, starvation or isolation, you name it. So, servants around the palace have stopped helping Jaehwan for their own good and too. Because it wasn't only them at the end of the punishments, as Jaehwan was the one who would get worse of it for trying to get help from others.
So Jaehwan himself has stopped talking to anyone just to avoid anyone getting into problem.
As if now he was carrying another load of dirty clothes that needed to be washed. And to be clear, these clothes were used by servants. In short, Jaehwan was treated lower than the servants and maids in palace. Even though he was a Prince, no one could do anything to stop this. Doing so meant inviting your death, because the King wasn't merciful at all.
His little back was hurting badly from carrying the heavy load. But he needed to finish this before he gets punished. So he was carrying the heavy sack over his head with all his might.
He takes another root this time because he knew few of the servants would be at the usual place by the river for their bath. His whole body ached but he didn't dare to complain.
His steps came to a halt when he heard unfamiliar but adorable giggles from the distance. He couldn't help but wonder who was behind that beautiful voice. The giggles slowly died down but Jaehwan's heartbeat became erratic. He needed to find out who was it.
He started walking towards the voice as if being pulled by some magnet.
And in no time his breath hitched. There was pup playing in the sand while giggling to himself. Those giggles did sound so adorable that Jaehwan couldn't help but smile.
How many time has passed since he actually smiled?
That pup was the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. The pup was chubby and his baby fat was showing on his cheeks which was the most adorable thing about him. He was giggling that made his eyes squeeze shut by his rosy cheeks. His hair was shiny blonde which he never had seen before on any wolf. He was so lost that he didn't even notice the pup was looking at him and now he was standing in front of him with the adorable pucker of his plump lips.
"Huh?", Jaehwan was pulled out of the trance as he felt the little pup tug at his arm.
"Are you alone too? Will you play with me hyung?", The cute boy said pointing his little finger at the sand castle he had made which was yet to be completed. Jaehwan's lips turned upwards in a smile.
