Kalen - chapter 15

I wish I hadn't seen them fighting. I was to stay close to Kendra because of my duties and I heard it all, I saw how she slapped him and how he threatened her, all because she didn't want to let go of me. She looked annoyed and I wanted to ask her if she was ok, I feared what may happen to her when she was alone with Caldor. The gates of Vowen were decorated for the coming of the bride and groom, everything looked beautiful. We stopped at the entrance of the palace, and all the citizens came to throw flower petals upon the newlyweds. Both Caldor and Kendra were smiling however with Kendra, the smile didn't reach her eyes. They thanked everyone and Caldor led her to their room, it was midday and I believe they were going to get some rest; however, I knew that Caldor would punish her for what she did. I took my horse to the shed and fed her hay and water. I brushed my horses main, wondering what may happen to Kendra, what Caldor could do to her know they were married. He had acted so sweet; his greed took over what may have been a good soul once.
