Kendra – chapter 16

I hated this, all of this. I would never forgive Father; I wouldn't even call him father anymore. He threw me into an endless pit, and I keep falling, there is no one to catch me now. My head hurts so much, and my feet are killing me. The corset it is crushing me, and my throat feels dry. Caldor hadn't spoken to me even once; he had kissed me on the head Infront of the citizens to show his love for me. However, all this time, everything was an act. The guards pushed open the door of our chamber for us, it was ten times the size of my room alone. Everything was decorated with flowers and silks. As soon as the doors closed, I ignored Caldor and threw my heels off, I set the crown on the bedside table, and pull the ribbon out of my pocket, as I tie my hair up, Caldor sits on the bed slowly, his gaze on me. "Do you know where my clothes are, I need to change" I ask grudgingly. He stares at me for a minute and then gestures to the closet. I could feel his burning eyes on me, as I pick out a loose night gown. As I enter the bathroom, I can hear he is changing to. I brush my hair and set it up again. Finally, I wanted to go to bed, but I knew what would result in that. I came back to the room, Caldor was wearing a loose fitted shirt and pants, I could see him muscles shifting in every movement. I sat down on the bed, there was nothing to do now. I hated this so much. Caldor came and sat beside me, it was awkward and confusing. Thankfully a knock came on the door, it was a soldier informing Caldor that the general was calling an emergency meeting. Caldor sighed loudly and stood up. he changed right there. I walked to the other side of the room where a bookshelf was sitting, I slowly grabbed a book hoping for some sort of distraction. Caldor came up to me and announced. "I'll be back in an hour, if you need anything ask the soldiers." I nodded keeping my eyes on the books, he stared at me for some time, so I turned to face him. His gaze fell to my lips, I clenched my fists, and turned back to the books, I would not give him what he wants. Slowly after he left. As soon as the door shut, I crawled into bed, if I slept right now, I would be able to avoid awkward situations. However, sleep didn't take me. I turned over again and again, it felt like time wasn't passing by at all.

After a while, the door cracked open, and I shut my eyes quickly. I heard a low sigh, and felt the mattress weigh down as Caldor sat down beside me. I could feel his gaze on me, I tried my best to act like I had fallen asleep. Slowly the lights turned off and I felt Caldor lie down. Muscular arms wrapped around my waist, and I felt his head dug into my neck. I felt his hot breath and a chill went down my spine. Slowly I fell asleep in his hands, I would never forgive father for doing this to me.
