Episode 2 - the big tick

At Yellowstone National Park, Grandpa Max has just finished setting up the RV.

Max: are you two ready to live on the lamb?

Gwen: you're not going to make us eat those worm things again, are you?

Max: don't bother going into the rustbucket, we're almost out of food. If you're feeling hungry then you can always have a snack that nature has provided for you.

He lifts a log and ben runs over to Gwen, activating the omnitrix.

Gwen: what are you doing?

Ben: take a look at that man and tell me you want to eat that.

They watch as max slurps up a few worms and Gwen changes the diel to XLR8 but ends up as Cannonbolt.

Ben: does that thing ever work?

Gwen: I'm pretty sure at this point that it's a prototype.

Ben: that would explain a lot. At least cannon bolt is fast right?

Gwen: she can keep up with a car.

However, before she can roll off something crashes into the forest and the trio goes and investigate, finding that the meteor was splitting open and from it some giant tick came out of it. A ship flew down and three different people flew out of it. The first is a tall, pale-skinned alien with six tentacle-like feet. The second is shorter with six arms and yellow skin. He can apparently hear and understand what the giant tick is saying, though it never makes any noise resembling speech. The final alien is of medium height, has four eyestalks, and carries a large axe. Upon seeing Cannonbolt they were intrigued.

Tick follower 1: an arburian pelarota. How odd.

Gwen: and why's that?

Tick follower 3: because the master destroyed your home planet just last week.

Gwen: that thing is your master?

Tick follower 3: quiet, he's talking to me.

Ben: so, I should get my prototool and start shooting them, right?

Tick follower 1: you cannot harm our master, once he's done feasting on your planet it won't matter anymore.

Max: what do you mean by that?

Tick follower 3: the master goes from inhabited planet to planet to eat it before moving onto the next planet. Getting stronger each time.

Gwen: we'll see about that.

She charges up and starts rolling into the big tick, bouncing off each time. Before timing out.

Tick follower 1: did you think one arburian pelarota would be able to destroy the master when a whole planet of them were unable to?

Ben: I guess we never thought about it.

He grabs onto his backpack and pulls out his equipment as he starts blasting the big tick, the lasers bouncing off as he switched it to its shield mode to protect himself.

Max noticed that the ground started to turn to mush, and ben tried to grab onto him and Gwen, trying to pull them out of the dense mud btu he wasn't able to, however Gwen was able to change Ito stinkfly before sinking in and she grabs onto max, keeping hold of him as the trio watched the park start to fall to the poisonous ground.

Gwen: this was fast.

Ben: and we need to be faster, there right behind us.

The trio of tick worshipers start following them and while Gwen was able to get the second one out of commission faster, the first one started to chase down ben on his hoverboard, ben started blasting him, but he had to stop when the follower flew above him. He aimed one good shot and he managed to shoot his hoverboard down, sending him spiralling towards the ground. At the same time Gwen was using the top two eye stalks to shoot goo at the third follower but failing to hit him. Ben managed to shoot his hoverboard and the trio land down Infront of the big tick and Gwen times out with ben shooting it again.

Max: so Cannonbolt didn't 't work on it?

Gwen: and she's like my strongest gal.

Ben: you have 10 others to try.

Gwen: no way, I'm not using ghost freak.

They look at how it's grown substantially, and it had started spewing out some kind of grey goop. Gwen steps forward and she tried all of her aliens against it. She tried Cannonbolt again, she tried to attack it as fourarms, she tried cutting into it as diamond head, she tried to use XLR8 to build up speed and crash through it, she tried to burn it as Heatblast, she tried to use stinkfly to clog it up, she tried to use Wildvine to dig into it, she tried to use greymatter to sneak into the tick and she tried to use goop to get through the small cracks and into the big tick, she tried to use upgrade to upgrade the prototool, but none of it worked.

Gwen panted where she stood. Ben tried to fly up higher and shoot it from above as they watched it grow.

Max: we're out of time.

Gwen: we've been at this for almost 4 hours. None of my aliens have put a dent in this thing.

Ben: then don't try and brake it, just fly into it.

Gwen: you know ghostfreek freaks me out.

Max: and if you don't use him the whole planet may be destroyed.

Gwen nods and when she times in she turns into ghostfreek and she merges with it, the followers showed back up and they start shooting at max. Ben flew down and picked him up as they watch more and more of the landscape start to be mutated by the big tick.

Ben: let's hope she can finish this thing off before this spread to the rest of the world.

Max: then we should hold them off.

The trio of the big tick's followers start to approach the, and ben gets back on his hover board, pulling his prototool off of his shoulder, but before he can shoot, they notice something was happening to the big tick. It started growing faster and faster as it outgrew its shell and it exploded, mad grabbing some of the big tick's shell to use as protection. Gwen was floating in the air, and she timed out, falling to the ground as ben managed to catch hr before she crashed on the ground.

Ben: you did its dweeb.

Gwen: yeah, I did, didn't I?

Max: you both did grate.

Gwen: I still felt like I wasn't in full control of ghostfreek. She just feels off.

The followers look at the crater that the big tick exploding had created and back at the trio of Tennysons.

Follower 2: he's gone.

Follower 1: we're free.

Ben: what do you mean your free.

Follower 3: we were following the master to stop our home worlds from being destroyed, hoping that one day somebody stronger than us would put a stop to him.

Follower 1 placed a device on the floor before eth three got on their hoverboards and headed back out into space. The land started to unmutated and the ground returned to normal. As did the rest of the environment.

Gwen: all's well that ends well, right?

Ben: I don't even know anymore.

Max: so, we're hitting the road?

Ben and Gwen let's get out of here.

Gwen used XLR8 to quickly clean up the slime from the rustbucket that the death of the big tick had sprung onto the rustbucket, and they drove off.
