We left our horses on the road and walked past the yard of the house and in the shop...

"Hello there! I haven't seen you two here before? You are not from the village?" A man there welcomed us in. "We are just passing by to get food." I said and held Y/N's hand. I was feeling anxious. "Oh, racers. Wait.. I've actually seen you somewhere.. No way, y-you are the top two racers!" He exclaimed. "We are in a little hurry, we'd like to eat." I was getting annoyed. "Yes, yes, I'm sorry. I've just gotten some corn bread out of the oven. I can offer you a fresh salad with it, is that okay?" He asked us. "Yes, that will be fine." I looked at Y/N and she nodded as an agreement. "Sure, give me 5 minutes, you can wait outside at one of the tables." He went into some back door. We went outside and sat there. The weather was pretty nice. It was quite sunny for a winter day...
We both stayed in silence. "Soo, aren't you gonna say something?" Y/N finally spoke. It was awkward because of yesterday's thing. " I don't really know what to say." I told her. "Well, you had quite a lot things to say yesterday.." She murmured under her nose. She looked bored. I gave her a quick look and sighed. I got up from my seat and sat next to her. "Talking is not my favorite thing, I'd rather give you attention in some other ways." I picked her up and placed her in my lap. "Hey- Is that really okay to do here? I mean, we are in public.." She whispered. "Do you care? There's no one except that man here." I told her. She worried too much about all the small things. "Alright.." She whispered and snuggled into me. It felt really good when she was close to me. I was thinking of what to say. "What are we going to do after the race? Any plans?" I asked. I immediately felt that her heart rate increased. "Isn't it way too early to talk about this?" She was tense. There was something she just wasn't telling me. It made me feel worried. "It's never too early. I enjoy talking about future plans." I told her. I just didn't see a problem with it. "...Then what are your plans?" Y/N was hesitant. "After we win, maybe we could buy a house together. Wherever you say, I won't mind." I suggested. It was kind of childish, but I didn't care. "Sure, we can.." She sounded unsure. "Look, if you don't want, then just say so." I was annoyed by how little enthusiasm she was showing. "No, it's not like that! I really want to." She denied. "..Okay." still really suspicious...

The man came carrying our breakfast. "Here you are, enjoy yourselves!" The man placed the bread and a bowl full with green salad. "Thank you, we really appreciate it!" Y/N thanked him and he walked away... "This looks tasty." Y/N got off me and inspected the bread. She got one small loaf and ate it. I was waiting for her to tell her opinion. "Woah, that's pretty good!" She looked happy. I got one too and it indeed tasted really nice. She got a fork and placed the bowl with salad in front of her. She turned to me. "Want me to feed you?" She held out the fork with a tomato and a cucumber on it. "Sure." I agreed. "Okay, say aah." She held my chin and I opened my mouth. She fed me the salad and I chewed on in. The vegetables were really fresh and tasty. "Cute.." Y/N leaned in and gave me a kiss on the forehead. We continued with our breakfast..

The baker's pov:

I walked back in. I couldn't believe that I happened to see them. I had to double check so I went upstairs to get the newspaper from my room. There they were, right on the first page. "Y/N L/N and Diego Brando.." I read their names. I saw an article about them.

Gossips.. We all love them! As you all know the most famous and talented racers, Diego Brando and Y/N L/N have been traveling and racing together! And that's not all! Multiple people have reported seeing them going out shopping and holding hands in Kansas city. That's suspicious, right? "I got to talk to them since I was their waiter and I welcomed them in my guesthouse. There's definitely something going between them." A girl from a village states. They haven't yet announced it publicly, but we will all be happy to see our favorites together!
