Hi yall, guess what. Yes, life is getting better and I'll post much more frequently than before!!! Also the story is near it's end- I might do a sequel tho!!

Diego's pov:
It was at sunset, I stopped by to pick up some winter forest fruits. "She's sleeping for so long. What's happening again.." I was wondering why she was so tired. Suddenly I felt an immense amount of aura behind me. I immediately turned around on defensive. It was her.
Her eyes, they were like daggers, staring like she could kill someone. She looked at me. I felt a chill up my spine. The intense concentration of power made me unable to move, nor speak. I don't know why, but I was scared, anxious. "What is happening?" I couldn't find out by just standing still. She was looking straight through my eyes and I couldn't look away either. "Y/N-" I tried saying out. She got off. "What's bothering you? What happened?" I asked. She approached me. I stepped back. "Stay right there. Don't come close-" "Why? Don't you want to be with me anymore?" Y/N spoke. I continued to go back. "Why are you walking away? Come here.." Her voice was relaxing, yet looked like she could gut me out. It could have been a stand attack. "Stop!" She began running towards me. I started sprinting. I knew I could outrun her, as long as she didn't use her ability that is. "Gahh! Stay !" I had to use my stand. I was transforming when I suddenly felt something heavy on my back. She had jumped on top of me. I fell down, I turned around to look up. As soon as I did that, she pinned me down. "Ugh-! What is it Y/N?!" I tried getting out of her grip. "Why are you acting so weird? I was just trying hug you." Her face closer to mine, her warm breath gently touching my skin, making intense eye contact. Sweat ran down my face. "You're not going to die right? You'll do it for me.." Her lips pressed against mine. It turned into a passionate kiss. It calmed me down.. "Not die? What are you talking about?" I was confused. "To avoid ceasing to existing. Don't stop breathing, I want you to love me forever." Her hands were touching my face. She knew the truth.. I couldn't find comfort in it. "I love this cold breath of yours, the thing I value the most. Why is your ability activated? Scary Monsters..?" She noticed, traced her fingers along the cracks on my skin. "I felt something off with you. You started chasing after me. I couldn't be sure." I explained. "My bad, I didn't mean to." She chuckled. She tried to scare me..
Something changed in the span of those few hours she was asleep. I could feel anger leaking out of her eyes, no matter how she tried to hide it. I was too scared to ask. Or maybe I didn't want to get involved.

We got back onto our horses. We ran for about half an hour and then camped out. It was rather a nice night with her.

It was 1am.. She was sleeping next to me. I was just laying, clearing my mind. "My god.. Why would she tell me that." The thought of death circled through my head. I wanted to live. "Guess I'll never have the chance to see my house done.. nor be with her, go to the future? Have kids together.. I can't even get her pregnant with those pills she takes." I bit my lip in frustration. I wanted to leave something behind before I died.
I hugged her, it was all the comfort I was left with...

One day prior the end of stage 7

Y/N's pov:
It was about 3pm. "We have been running across Michigan, Ohio🦞 and Pennsylvania for about a week now.." I sighed. "I bet we will finish tomorrow about this time.. I hope so."  I felt so nervous. We had to finish on January 19th, and it was the 13th. I wanted it to be all over. I felt like I was having an exam I haven't studied for and the teacher is just about to give us the papers. I couldn't think straight anymore, I felt like Diego could notice it too. It all depended on me. As for him.. I knew he felt even more awful. He was the type of person to never rely on anyone else except on him, even for the smallest things. His life depending all on me must have been so heavy on his mentality. He was always lost in his thoughts. The darkness in his eyes was now back. But there was no way out, we had to push forward to succeed. Every night we talked about our plans after the race, it was the only motivation we had..
