CHAPTER 19

CLARRISE

THE ALPHA I'M seeing right now appears to be vulnerable and frail. And for a brief moment, I forgot why I came here. I felt swept away by his touch, and the way he said my name sounded like a lullaby.

No one spoke, and we were both staring at each other. He holds me like it's the first time he's ever held something delicate. And he looks at me as if I'm some precious gem that must be guarded.

My entire body froze when I felt him tenderly stroking my elbows. His eyes glowed with an emotion I couldn't quite grasp. But his next move sent my heart racing. He grabbed my waist and then my arms. He then rested his head on my shoulder, and I could feel him inhaling my scent as he traced his nose over my skin.

Bigla na lang akong nanghina sa ginawa niya. Breathing suddenly became difficult for me. Hanggang sa maramdaman ko ang maiinit niyang hininga sa leeg ko. At hindi ko maitatanggi na nagugustuhan ko ang ginagawa niya.

Seconds later, he lift my chin with his finger. Nang magtama ang mga mata namin ay para akong hinihigop sa kawalan. His intense stares pierce the core of my being.

"A-Alpha Drago..." I uttered under my breath.

"Hmmm... what is it, baby?" sagot niya habang banayad na hinahaplos ang magkabilang kong pisngi.

Hindi ako mapakali. His gentle voice gives a tingling sensation to my body. And did I hear him right? Did he call me baby?!

I was about to open my mouth to talk when I saw his eyelids slowly falling. Naging mapungay ang mga mata niya na para bang inaantok.

"Damn, Tarik! I think he put something on my drink," he mumbled softly.

Nilibot ko ang paningin at nakita ko ang walang lamang baso sa lamesa. Did Tarik do this on purpose? Nang ibalik ko ang tingin kay Alpha Drago ay nakapikit na ito pero alam kong pilit niyang nilalabanan ang antok.

"Alpha Drago, you should rest. Gagamutin ko na rin ang mga sugat mo."

"F*ck, Tarik for doing this," he uttered with gritted teeth.

I sighed and assisted him to lay down in his bed. Nang masiguro kong nasa ayos na siya ay kinuha ko kaagad ang mga gamot.

I silently mend his wounds. I stifle my smile as I watch him while he's trying his best not to fall asleep. After mending his wound, I covered his body with a blanket.

I realized how much I miss him as I stared at him. I gently caressed his face with my hand. The short stubbles on his jaw feel rough in my fingers. My hand then found its way between his thick brows and down to his proud nose. My gaze was drawn to his lips. My face instantly heated when I realized what I was about to do kaya dali-dali kong binawi ang kamay ko.

Shame on you, Rees. Since when did you become a perv?!

I let out a deep breath and fix the meds. But before I could stand, I felt Alpha Drago's callous hand gripping my wrist.

"Stay..." sabi niya habang nakapikit ang mga mata. I smiled and decided to stay for a bit then I'll leave him once he's fallen asleep.

I was watching him closely when I suddenly heard him utter a name. The same name he called me the first time we met.

"Clarrise... I miss you."

NASA KUSINA AKO at abala sa paghahanda ng pagkain. Pagkatapos ko rito ay pupunta ako sa infirmary para tumulong ulit. Doc Zara has requested my help again because she thinks I can be much help to her.
