CHAPTER 24

UNDER ATTACK

I WOKE UP from a scream coming from outside the tent. What was that?! What is happening?!

Dali-dali akong bumangon sa kama para tingnan kung anong nangyayari. I am still wearing Alpha Drago's shirt but I don't think I have time to change. The ruckus outside is getting worse. Hindi ko tuloy maiwasang makaramdam ng takot.

Just as I was about to go outside, Tarik came in, panting. "Rees! We have to leave. Let's go!"

He hastily dragged me by the hand and then we started running. And the moment we stepped outside, my entire body stiffened on the ground. Tarik, who is holding me, also came to a halt.

Five werewolves are blocking our way. These werewolves are not ordinary I believe. Their snarls and bloody eyes are telling us to get ready for our death. Tarik then growled loudly which caught the attention of our warriors.

Binitawan ni Tarik ang kamay ko at dahan-dahang humakbang. "Leave, Rees. Run and don't look back," he uttered firmly.

"B-But..."

He glared at me. I sighed deeply and started running. Before leaving, I saw Tarik shift into his wolf form.

Why is this happening right now?

I'm not sure where I'm going. I run and run, oblivious to the path I'm taking. Then I came to a halt, panting and sweating, and leaned against a tree. Then I realized something. I shouldn't be running. I came here to help those people!

And so without thinking twice, I started to run again, this time I took the path that will lead me back to the village.

Malapit na ako sa village nang may isang nilalang na humarang sa akin. My forehead knitted with the sight before me. This creature in front of me is no ordinary one. He has a muscular build, completely dark eyes, sharp claws and fangs, visible veins, and pointy ears.

Napasinghap ako sa napagtanto. Alam ko kung anong klaseng nilalang siya. Kalahating lobo at kalahating bambira.

Werewolf-vampire hybrids are stronger and faster than pure-blooded werewolves and vampires. Although they have the same weaknesses, they are hard to kill. Like vampires, a werewolf-vampire hybrid has blood lust and the animalistic instinct of a werewolf.

No one dared to move. He is still glaring at me with his dark eyes. Hanggang sa unti-unti ko ng naramdaman ang pagbilis ng pulso niya. Naghanda na ako dahil alam kong handa na siyang atakihin ako.

Hindi nga ako nagkamali. Bigla na lang niya akong inatake gamit ang matutulis na mga kuko. He growled like a mad animal. His mouth watered with lust--- lust to kill me.

"You smell delicious. I will have your blood and shred you into pieces after."

He pushed me against a tree and attacked me again after saying those words. He choked my neck with his right hand while his free hand is ready to lash at me. I growled, gathered my strength, and clawed his face. Nang maramdaman kong lumuwag ng kaunti ang hawak niya sa akin ay sinipa ko siya sa tiyan.

Napaatras ito pero kaagad ding nakabawi. He attacked me again with his claw but I managed to dodge it. I swiftly climb to his back and strived to twitch his neck but he was too fast. He grab my hands and slammed me to the ground. Then he kicked me, causing me to fly away.

I winced as I clutch my abdomen.

He's too strong. I need to shift. And I need to focus.

My wolf took over. Her anger and urge to kill this creature are too strong.

We both growled in agony as our sharp claws pierced each other's skin. His claws pierced my shoulder, and mine pierced his chest. Because I was in wolf form, my claws nearly covered his entire chest. I took him down and bit his neck as soon as he hit the ground.
