CHAPTER 46

INDEBTED

THE SOUND of the rain awakes me from my deep slumber. I groaned and turned my body to see if Drago was still in bed. A smile formed on my lips when I saw him still sleeping beside me.

Slowly, I hovered over him to caress his face with my knuckles. I then kissed my fingers and brought them to his lips before I got out of bed to wash. Pagkatapos kong maglinis ay umupo ako sa silya sa harap ng lamesa na may salamin.

I gently comb my curls while humming a song that my Mama Letitia used to sing for me when I was just a kid. After combing my hair, I chose a comfortable dress to wear today, then I went in front of the full-length mirror to see my reflection.

Napangiti ako nang makita ko ang marka ni Drago sa balat ko. I gently traced it with my finger, still smiling. I can't believe I am marked! Now our bond has finally been completed.

I was about to leave when my eyes caught something in the reflection. The half-naked Drago looks hot in the morning with his disheveled hair. He walks toward me and settled himself from behind. His arms then started caressing my arms while kissing the mark on my skin.

"Good morning, baby," he greeted with his lips still lingering on my skin.

"Good morning. Gutom ka na ba? Maghahanda ako ng makakain."

He gently touch the mark he gave. "Does it still sting?" he asked instead of answering my question.

"Kaunti lang," sagot ko. He nods his head and then he inhaled my scent.

"Uh, maghahanda ako ng pagkain natin," I told him gently. I pouted when he still hasn't let me go. "Drago?" I called his attention again.

He sighed and kissed his mark once more before letting me go.

Pagdating ko sa kusina ay kaagad akong nilapitan ni Miss Olga. Binati niya ako pati na rin ng iba pa naming kasamahan. Nana inquired as to my plans, and I simply stated that I would prepare Drago's breakfast. She looks surprised by what I said, but she later nods her head gently.

I can't help but notice how the kitchen staff treats me while I'm cooking. Something appears to have changed. Hindi naman masama ang trato nila pero parang naiilang sila.

Is it because they realized my connection to Drago? But, as I told Ida, I am still the Rees they knew, and I don't want them to feel awkward around me.

Natapos ko na ang pagluluto. Ida helped me bring the food to the dining. I thank her and then she left after.

Hindi naman nagtagal at dumating na si Drago. He gently pulls me towards him when he got closer then kissed me on my lips. He then rests his head on my neck while inhaling my scent.

"Uh, kain na tayo?"

"Let's stay like this for a while. I miss you, Clarrise."

Saglit akong natigilan sa sinabi niya. Magkasama naman kami kanina. "Your acting like we haven't seen each other for a long time," I told him jokingly.

He sighed and tightened his hug. "I haven't felt your essence for years, Clarrise and this is actually the first time I felt you... closer."

His words bring back memories from the past but the thing is, it doesn't hurt anymore because I have already forgiven him. Hindi na ako nagsalita at hinayaan siyang yakapin ako.

"I've wasted years, baby, and to feel you, not just your touch, but your entire existence, feels like a dream."

I freed myself from his hug then I touched his face. "Well, this is not a dream anymore. I am yours now, Drago. You owned me."
