CHAPTER 14

AVOIDING

AFTER IDA'S COMMENT last night, I started to evaluate my feelings. I wanted to consider how I felt about the Alpha. Is it really possible to like someone in such a short time? But even in our private encounters, we don't talk much.

I couldn't sleep because of my conversation with Ida. My eyes are heavy, and I'm mentally exhausted.

"Rees, pakidala ang mga ito sa dining," pakiusap ni Miss Olga.

I took the tray of food and made my way to the dining. Pagpasok ko sa dining area ay walang tao pero pansin ko ang mga bagong pitas na bulaklak sa ibabaw ng lamesa.

I wonder who picked the flowers. "It must be Miss Unna," I muttered to myself.

After placing the tray on the table, I look around for a vase to hold the flowers but I couldn't find any.

"I should get one to the kitchen," I mumbled quietly. But the door swung open before I could even reach for the knob. When I saw who had entered the dining room, my breathing hitched.

"Alpha Drago!" I exclaimed.

As I stared at the Alpha, I could tell he was surprised because he came to a halt when he saw me. Then I think back to the last time I saw him. I also recall what he said to me that day.

"I'll join you for breakfast tomorrow morning."

His promising voice suddenly echoed in my head. I mentally scold myself. Why do I have to remember it? Ngayon pa talaga sa harap mismo ng Alpha. Nang makabawi ako sa gulat ay nagsalita na ako.

"Enjoy your breakfast, Alpha Drago. I'll go ahead," I said, with my head down. But I stopped when I realized that I can't go out because the Alpha is blocking the door. "Ahm... Excuse me, Alpha Drago. May I go out?"

Umayos siya ng tayo pero hindi para padaanin ako, bagkos ay humakbang siya palapit sa'kin.

When he took his first step forward, I held my breath. His movement was so quick that I almost stumbled when I took a step back. I closed my eyes, expecting to fall to the ground, but instead, a strong pair of arms wrapped around my waist.

My body crashed with his, and I was stunned by how hard and massive his chest is. I raised my head slowly to meet his gaze, but I quickly regretted it. His stares are piercing and unwavering. He looks at me as if he wants to crush me against his body until I can longer find a way out.

But no matter how intense and dangerous his gaze was, I didn't look away. Sinubukan ko pang labanan ang mga titig niya hanggang sa naramdaman ko ang biglang paghigpit ng pagkakayapos niya sa'kin.

When I felt my breast pressing tightly against his chest, my face and body heated up. I attempted to push him away with my hands, but he was far too strong. Or perhaps I'm just too frail to push him. When I noticed him breathing near my ear, I let out a quiet gasp.

The air from his mouth is so warm that I shivered when I felt the tip of his nose on the crook of my neck. My breathing became erratic, and my body shivered slightly.

"A-Alpha D-Drago. W-We should..."

I mentally cursed myself because I couldn't even finish what I have to say.

"Alpha Drago... l-let go."

"Hmmm..."

Muntik na akong mapamura nang marinig ang sagot niya. Ang lambing ng boses niya at nakakapanghina. My knees are starting to weaken and if I don't hold on to him I might fall to the floor.

I have the right to push him, but my feelings for him prevent me from doing so. When it comes to him, he knows I'm weak and he's using it against me. He is, indeed, cruel.
