Queen

My eyes were glued to the bright phone, every single additional text adding fuel to the fire that was already raging inside me. As angry and pissed as I was, I was able to contain it. That was until I reached the end of their conversation and saw her typing. The bubbles appeared consistently and I waited, my entire body heating. I closed my eyes to try to calm myself down but within the same instant, I heard the sound of another notification and looked down.

Stella: So you're going to read my messages and not reply? Fine. I have something for that. Do you remember this?

The cover of the video was Stella's face with a huge grin on it and smeared lipstick on her lips. I looked down at it, not knowing what to think before pressing play, and watching. The video started with her obnoxious giggles as she set up the camera until it was still. When she stepped back, I saw a room I hadn't seen before but it resembled the layout of a hotel room. She stood in front of a bed, checking herself out in what seemed to be a mirror behind the camera and I rolled my eyes.

I heard the clattering of objects in the video and it seemed to grab Stella's attention too as she snapped her head to someone out of the frame and laughed softly. She walked out of the camera momentarily and I could hear small movements before she walked back into view. But she wasn't alone this time.

My heart broke in half as I saw a shirtless Syn walk into the frame with her. His arm was slumped over her shoulder as she helped him to the edge of the bed and he sat down, directly facing the direction camera. It didn't seem like he knew it was there though. He rubbed his eyes as she tried to get him to loosen up and I watched as she placed sloppy kisses on his neck. He made no moves to reciprocate anything, yet did nothing to stop her at all.

"You need a drink." I heard her say before she stood up and left the frame again. "Relax a little, baby!"

I could hear her in the background, but my eyes remained on Syn. The more I watched him, the more I realized that something was seriously wrong.

Stella came back into view with a bottle of alcohol in hand, no glasses to be seen. "Here, open. This will help you feel better." She placed something I couldn't see into his mouth before holding this bottle to his lips and urging him to drink it. "There we go. Just drink a little more."

When the bottle was half empty, she finally placed it down and Syn hunched over tiredly. I could see him struggle to keep his eyes open as she tried to dance on him and I held back the bile in my throat.

Stella looked back to see him half asleep and slapped his cheeks lightly. "You can't fall asleep, baby. I'll be bored."

"Stella..." I heard him say weakly in a strained voice I hardly recognized as his own. "Leave me alone."

"Fine." She sighed. "After this..." she planted her lips on his and kissed him deeply before moving to his neck. Chills ran down my spine as I saw Syn fighting to maintain consciousness and my chest ached in a pain I had never experienced before.

When she began to remove his pants, I had to stop the video. My mind filled in most of what happened next and there was nothing I felt but complete fury at what I had just seen. It was one thing if I saw a sex tape. It would hurt, but I'd get over it. But this? Syn couldn't even say his own name let alone give her consent to do anything that was in the rest of the twenty-five minutes I couldn't bring myself to watch.

My eyes fell back down to the text messages and I looked at the ones under the video.

Stella: I would hate for the world to see you that weak. Come see me and this will remain a secret between the both of us, I swear.

This would definitely remain a secret between us, but not in the way she thought. My fingers flew across the screen and typed a response back to her.

Me: I will meet you at the condo. This will be the last time I see you.

This would be the last time anyone saw her if I had it my way. I had never in my life seen Syn as a victim of anything, and it wouldn't start today. Whatever happened that I didn't know about or that he didn't want to tell me, he was still the same man I knew and loved with everything in me. That wouldn't change no matter what, but I couldn't just sit here, knowing what she did, and do nothing about it.

She was going to learn today, one way or another, what happened to the people that fucked with the people I love.
