Whatever progress Velda had made in her communication with Regulus had seemed to completely vanished as she stepped into the potions classroom. Before, both of them had to restrain themselves from punching each other's brains out whenever they saw each other in the halls. With some study sessions it slowly turned into an 'alright, if you don't kill me, I won't kill you' relationship but now Regulus was being back in his egoistical, cold-hearted, psychopathic wanna be bad boy mood and Velda was having none of it.

"Stop! You have to crush the bean, not cut it!" Velda exclaimed frustrated. Black never did mistakes in potions, she couldn't phantom why he'd be on the verge of ruining their potions grades for the past lesson.

"This is already the fourth time you nearly destroyed our whole potion! Snap back into reality, Black! I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you but you better pull yourself together before I'll scratch your eyeballs out."

Black send her a glare and ripped the beans from her hands, "Don't tell me what to do you peace of scum," was all he hissed before turning away from her, now crushing the beans.

"Oh, sorry for not wanting to die because of your mistakes!" her hands clenched around the next essence so hard that she feared that the glass might shatter into pieces.

When Black started to put the Ashwinder eggs into he potion, Velda allowed her eyes to travel up from his hands to where Chester and Dara sat. Probably no one would assume that they had regular snogs in broom closets all around the school as from other people's view they as looked normal as ever. But Velda saw the way their hands would purposefully brush against each other, lingering for a second more than they should and the way their eyes met when no they were sure that no one was watching them.

It was disgustingly cute but Velda didn't really believe in such thing as true romantic love. Sure she loved her friends and some family unconditionally but of course not in a romantic way. She was convinced that at some point, this kind of love would fade into platonic love or nothingness.

Finally finishing the potion, Velda sunk back into her seat. After a while of staring at other people doing their work, she noticed Regulus staring at her, so she turned her head towards him.

"What's your problem? If you keep staring at me I might think you're secretly in love with me or something."

Regulus rolled his eyes at the statement, "As if I'd ever love someone of your kind. You simply have dirt on your nose."

Velda raised her hand towards her nose, still not sure whether he was lying or not and tried to brush the dirt off.

"Still there."

Velda took a deep breath to keep herself from punching him. "Where is it then, genius?"

Unexpectedly Regulus leaned over and brushed his thumb slowly over her nose, his eyes never leaving hers as his fingers held their position slightly longer than needed. Snapping out of her trance, Velda turned her head to the side, "You can stop now, snake."
