Chapter 2 - The Question

Leni could not believe her eyes.

Bong Bong was there, right in front of her. In New York.

Leni thought to herself,

No wonder you're not replying to my calls. On the way ka na pala kasi dito.

Bong Bong opened his arms, as if he's waiting for her to hug him. He said,

"Yes, it's me. You're not dreaming."

Leni smiled and proceeded to hug him. Bong Bong wrapped his arms around her.

Leni felt overwhelmed seeing him again. His warm hug and familiar scent felt like home.

Bong Bong slowly pulled away from her but held Leni close at arms length. He told her,

"You look amazing, VP."

Leni blushed. She noticed that Bong Bong also looked good in his suit. She said,

"Ikaw din. Ang gwapo mo... "

Leni suddenly felt weird. She feels like something big was going to happen.

She continued,

"... although I have to ask - what are you doing here?"

Bong smiled as he looked at her. He said,

"As I look into your eyes... I think you already might have an idea as to why I'm here."

Leni's heart started to beat faster. She thought to herself,

Is this it?

Bong Bong continued,

"I have a question to ask you... and I know I said that I'll ask this once you're ready to tell the world about us...

... but I realized that I can't wait anymore. So Leni, whether or not you still want us to be a secret after I ask you this question will still be up to you...

... All I ask right now is that you answer me for my heart could not wait any longer."

Bong Bong took a step back and kneeled down.

He pulled out a diamond ring from his chest pocket and took her hand as he said,

"VP... Will you marry me?"

Upon hearing Leni's answer, Bong Bong smiled just as bright and stood up to put the ring on her finger.

Bong Bong then gave Leni another warm hug. He said,

"Thank you... Pero a million lang?"

Leni wiped her tears as she joked,

"Ilan pa ba ang gusto mo? 31 million?"

Bong Bong chuckled. He then pulled back to touch Leni's cheek and give her a tender kiss.

Everything felt perfect at that moment.

Suddenly, they heard clapping behind the bushes nearby.

"Woo! Congratulations, you two!"

Bong Bong and Leni slowly parted to look at Lourdes who just congratulated them.
