Scott drives all the way to Sky and Paige's apartment building and arrives to their apartment. He knocks on the door and Paige answers it. "Oh, hey Scott.", Paige greeted. "Hey, Paige. Where's Sky? He texted me to come here.", Scott asked. "Oh yes, come in. He's in the living room, he's wants you to meet someone.", Paige smiled.
"Meet someone?", Scott asked, as he goes inside and Paige closes the door. Scott makes his way to the living room and finds Sky sitting in the living room, with another man, sitting on the opposite side of him, both talking and enjoying a glass of whiskey together. Scott is confused. "Scott, just in time.", Sky smiled, greeting his brother with a hug.
"Sky, what's going on? And who's that?", Scott asked in a curious way. "Come and sit with us", Sky smiled, leading Scott to the armchair, where he sits down near the random man. "Wanna glass of whiskey?", Sky asked. "Sure.", Scott shrugs, as Sky pours some whiskey into a glass at the bar.
Sky then gives Scott his whiskey, as Paige sits next to Sky, while enjoying a glass of white wine. "Sky, what's going on? And can you please tell me who's this guy?", Scott asked. "Scott, this is my friend and colleague, Derek Williams, he's a dancing instructor in the academy. Derek, this is my brother and Emily's dad, Scott.", Sky replied.
"Nice to meet you, Scott.", Derek replied, in a strong, English accent. "Nice to meet you too, Derek.", Scott replied, shaking his hand. "Sky has told me everything what had happened to your daughter, I'm so sorry.", Derek sighed.
"Thank you, Derek. Sky, what's going on here?", Scott replied. "Scott, I've told Derek everything about Emily's situation and the struggling that she's going though and I asked Derek to help Emily with her lessons and become her new dance partner.", Sky replied.
"But before I can help your daughter, I need to know everything about her. So that I can talk to her like a friend, rather than just an instructor or dance partner.", Derek replied. "Well, Emily has gone through a lot in her life, since her mother and I divorced. With my ex-wife, Martha out of the picture, things haven't been the same for Emily.", Scott sighed.
Derek remains silent and kept on listening to Scott, who continues to talk about Emily to him. "All she ever wanted was her mom to be there for her, and it breaks her heart when Martha never showed up to all of her special days in her life. It kills me to see her like this. But dancing helps her to forget, she said it's her place to escape from reality.", Scott sighed.
"But when she had her accident at last year's Regionals, she is devastated that not just only she didn't win or made to Nationals, but had to quit what she loved to do for a year, until she could dance again, but now just today, it's getting worse with her PTSD and she's scared she might hurt herself again.", Scott sighed. "So what it is what you want what's best for her?", Derek asked.
"I just want her to fulfil her dreams of becoming a professional dancer and make our family proud and I want her to overcome her fears and be confident she once was.", Scott sighed. Derek looks at Scott, who is worried for Emily, and he looks back at Sky and Paige, who both held hands.
Derek then smiles. "Alright, I'll help her!", Derek smiled, which surprises Scott, Sky and Paige. "I'll help her learn how to dance again, overcome her fears and make sure she'll make it to Regionals and Nationals this year.", Derek smiled. Scott and Derek gets up from the couch and Scott shake Derek's hand with joy.
"Thank you so much, Derek. This means everything to my daughter.", Scott smiled. "Well, we'll start next week, by the time you find a therapist for Emily.", Derek smiled. "Okay, sounds great. I better get going, Emily wants me to grab some sushi for take-out tonight.", Scott replied. "No worries.", Derek smiled.
"See ya later!", Sky replied. "Bye!", Scott smiled as he leaves the apartment building. Back at Scott and Emily's apartment, Emily is still sitting in the living room, watching Netflix on the TV when Scott comes home with some sushi take-out. "Hey, I'm back!", Scott called out. "Oh, welcome back!", Emily greeted.
