2 months later, Emily's relationship with her mother, Martha continues to grow strong and Martha continues to be around Emily's life and spend as much quality time with her as possible. Wanting to be close to her daughter, Martha moves back to New York and lives in a separate apartment building, a few blocks away from Emily's.

Emily continues to practice for Nationals, and kept on practicing hard before Nationals, which is a week away. The week before Nationals, Emily and her family are getting ready for a very special important day, with all of them dressed in black. Derek arrives to Emily's apartment, wearing an all-black suit, and has no idea what's going on until he arrives.

Derek knocks the door and Emily opens the door. "Hey!", Emily greeted. "Hi.", Derek smiled, as he kisses her. "Thanks for coming.", Emily smiled. "No worries. What's going on? Why do we have to wear black today?", Derek asked. "It's Kate's anniversary.", Emily sighed. "Who?", Derek asked. "Kate, Sky's former dance partner and fiancee. Today's the anniversary of her death.", Emily replied.

"Oh, ok.", Derek replied. "You didn't know Kate?", Emily asked. "No, I never met her or knew her. I wasn't friends with your uncle when she was alive.", Derek replied. "Oh, I had no idea. But today is an important day for Sky, and we're all here to support him.", Emily replied. Then Scott and Martha appears. "Ok, Em. We better get going, Sky and Paige are waiting for us.", Scott replied.

"Ok, Dad. Come on, let's get going.", Emily smiled, as everyone leaves the apartment. They drive throughout the city and arrives to Pier 35, where Sky and Paige are waiting. "Why are we at the Pier 35?", Derek asked. "Because this was Sky and Kate's romantic place and where he proposed to her.", Emily sighed.

They all arrive to the Pier and Sky remembers his relationship with Kate and the day he proposed to her at the same spot. He starts off by saying a speech in front of everyone. "Today marks the day of Kate's last day on Earth and it's been 8 years since Kate lost her life in a car accident.", Sky sighed, trying to hold back his tears. "Car accident?", Derek asked Emily, which Paige overheard.

"Kate was killed in a car accident, 8 years ago today. She and Sky were on their way to dinner to celebrate their anniversary that night, when a drunk driver collided into their car. Sky was flown out of the car and suffered injuries, but Kate was instantly killed in the crash. Sky was devastated when he learned that she was pronounced dead at the scene.", Paige whispers.

"It's must've been hard for him, and for you.", Derek replied. "Me?", Paige asked. "Yeah, you. It must be annoying for you, whenever he mentions her name.", Derek replied. "Not at all, I respect Kate and the relationship that Sky had with her. She was his first love, and always will be his first love.", Paige smiled.

"Kate, I miss you so much and not another day goes by when I don't think about you. Thank you so much for giving me the strength and being there with me in spirit.", Sky sighed, as he breaks down in tears, as he puts an old photo of Kate onto a safety railing. "I love you and I always will.", Sky sighed, as Paige comes towards him and comforts him.

Scott, Martha, Derek and Emily joins them and they all form a group hug together. They all place flowers near Kate's photo and they all leave, and head back to Sky and Paige's apartment, for lunch. At Sky and Paige's apartment, everyone is enjoying lunch around the dining table and after that, everyone heads back home.

That night, Emily is practicing for Nationals in her room, when she receives a text message from Sky on her phone, asking for if she wants to go out with him to the local diner in the city for dinner. She smiles and replies back, saying that she'll love to and will get ready now.

After texting, Emily gets ready, she picks a casual pink T-shirt with jeans and pink Converse sneakers, and pulls out a denim jacket to wear just in case. Emily comes out of her room and sees Scott, wearing casual formal wear. "Dad, you look sharp tonight. You're going somewhere?", Emily asked.

"Yes, I'm taking your mother out to dinner.", Scott smiled. "As in, like a date?", Emily asked. "Um, yeah, something like that.", Scott smiled. "Dad! Since when?", Emily asked. "Since your mother is now back in your life, she and I have been talking again and became closer again. So, I decided to take her out and see if we can make things work again.", Scott sighed. "You still love her, don't you?", Emily asked.

"Yeah, I do and I believe she does still love me too.", Scott sighed. "She is, and it'll be great if you two get back together again.", Emily smiled. "Really?", Scott asked. "Yes! Dad, you haven't been with anyone since Mom left, and seeing you with her again, made me realise how happy you are and that she makes you happy again. I want you to be happy, and if Mom is the one who makes you feel that way, then I respect that.", Emily smiled.

Scott smiles and hugs his daughter, who smiles with joy while embracing him. "Thanks, Em.", Scott sighed. "Anyways, I'm going out to dinner with Uncle Sky at the local diner in the city.", Emily smiled. "Ok, I'll see you later tonight, or tomorrow morning.", Scott replied. "Have fun.", Emily replied, as she exits the apartment.

Sky arrives to the apartment building on his motorcycle. "Hey, you're ready?", Sky asked. "Yep, ready as always, Uncle.", Emily smiled, as she runs up to him. "Here you are.", Sky replied, giving her the spare helmet. Emily takes it and puts it on her head, before climbing onto the motorcycle from behind and they ride away together.

They eventually arrive to their favourite local American diner in the city and order some burgers with fries and milkshakes. Whilst enjoying their meal, Sky and Emily talk and even laugh at each other's words. "You're nervous for next week?", Sky asked. "Very, I mean this will be my very first Nationals that I'll ever participate.", Emily replied.

"Don't worry, sweetheart. You'll be fine, it'll be like Regionals.", Sky replied. "I know, I just don't wanna hurt myself again.", Emily sighed. "You won't.", Sky replied. "How?", Emily asked. "Because you are stronger and smarter, and you're one of the most talented dancers I know. You will get through this and win this competition. If you can win Regionals, then you can win Nationals too.", Sky smiled.

Emily smiles at his words and he smiles back at her. "Thank you, Uncle Sky. For believing in me and giving me the strength that I didn't have, and thanks for being here with me, throughout this journey.", Emily smiled. They both get up from their seats and embrace for a long time. "I'm proud of you. So proud.", Sky sighed.

That night, Sky drops Emily back home and she returns to her apartment. Once inside, Emily goes to the kitchen to fetch some water to drink. She turns on the lights, which turns on both the kitchen and living room lights. As the lights flashes, Scott and Martha begins to gasp, which startles Emily, who turns and sees her parents, half dressed on the couch, to Emily's horror.

"Oh my God!", Emily screamed. "Emily!", Scott cried, whilst covering Martha with the blanket. "What the hell are you guys doing?!", Emily asked. "We thought you were still out with your uncle.", Scott cried. "I was, but I told him that I was tired, so he took me home.", Emily cried, whilst trying to get some water and covering her eyes.

"And why are you guys back home so early?", Emily asked. "We had a moment at the restaurant and we decided to...", Martha replied. "You decided to come back to fuck?", Emily asked. "Sorta.", Scott replied. "But why on the couch? You know I sometimes eat on the couch, and now I probably won't be eating on this couch anymore.", Emily sighed.

"So, I guess things work out between you two after all.", Emily replied. "Yeah, we're back together again.", Scott smiled, as he held Martha's hand and kisses her forehead, which makes her smile. "Great, happy for you. I'm going to bed, and next time, take that to the bedroom!", Emily cried, as she walks to the room, while covering her eyes.

After Emily shuts her door behind, Scott and Martha laugh at their daughter's reaction, before heading to the bedroom. Emily, who is now in her sleepwear, is lying in bed, texting Derek on her phone.

Minutes later, she hears loud banging noises from outside her bedroom, and hears her mother screaming, realising that her parents are getting it on in the bedroom. "Are you fucking serious?", Emily asked, to herself. Emily sighs in annoyance and tries to cover her ears with her pillow, to avoid from hearing.
