Strictly Dancing: A New Generation

Disagreements

A month after Regionals, everyone at Broadway Dance Center is still practicing hard as Nationals is 6 months away. Derek and Emily continues to dance and partner together, much dismay to Sky. One day, Emily goes to dance class, when she sees Derek and Sky arguing about her. "I thought I told you to stay away from my niece!", Sky yelled. 

"You know I can't do that, Sky.", Derek replied. Emily quickly intervenes, and breaks it up between her uncle and her dance partner. "Stop! Both of you!", Emily screamed. "I know about you and Derek, Em. I saw you two kissing at Central Park after Regionals! Why him?! Why my best friend?! I can't believe it!", Sky asked. 

"I'm sorry if this shocks you, Uncle Sky. But I really like Derek, and he likes me too.", Emily replied. "Like I said, I would never hurt Emily.", Derek replied. "I don't believe you.", Sky sighed. "Well, I do. I believe him.", Emily sighed. Sky is speechless by this. 

"Derek, do you mind giving us a couple of minutes?", Emily asked. "Sure, I'll be back soon.", Derek replied, kissing Emily on the head, before leaving the classroom. "I can't believe you followed and spied on us!", Emily yelled. "I was concerned for you!", Sky yelled. "Concerned for me? What am I? 10 years old?!", Emily asked in an angry tone. 

"Emily, you're my niece and it's my job to look after and protect you when your dad's not around!", Sky yelled. "I don't need protection or be looked after! I'm not a child, Uncle!", Emily yelled. "Derek is my best friend and I won't let him be romantically involved with my niece!", Sky yelled. 

"Uncle, I really appreciate you, being there for me and I appreciate you, for everything in my life. But you can't stop me from seeing Derek. I'm sorry, Uncle, but I really like him and I can't help it.", Emily sighed, as Sky walks out of the classroom, where Paige is waiting outside for him. 

"She's right, you know.", Paige replied. "Not you too, Paige.", Sky replied. "You can't stop her from seeing someone she likes.", Paige scoffs. "But with my best friend?! Really, Paige?!", Sky asked. 

"Don't you forget, how you and I ended together. We were just like them! You were my dance instructor before you became my boyfriend, Sky. I was just one of your students before I became your girlfriend! And my dad and Uncle Jasper didn't like our relationship at first. But they were able to accept us being together. ", Paige replied. "True.", Sky replied. 

"So, what's wrong between Derek and Emily?", Paige asked. "I don't know, I just wanted to protect Emily, she's been through so much, with her mother out of the picture, her injury at last year's Regionals, her journey of recovery, her PTSD and I'm worried that Derek may hurt her.", Sky sighed. 

"You don't have to worry, Emily can take good care of herself, if she wants to be with Derek, then that's her choice, not yours.", Paige sighed. "I guess so.", Sky replied. "You should apologise to them. Paige replied. Derek returns to the classroom and walks past Sky and Paige. "Come on, let's go.", Paige sighed, taking Sky's hand and took him back inside, where Derek and Emily are.

"If you're here to tell us off...", Emily replied. "I'm not.", Sky replied. "Em, I'm really sorry. Ever since your mother is out of your life, and seeing you suffer your injuries and your PTSD, I've been worried about you so much. Seeing you with Derek, kills me because I fear that he may hurt you, and I don't want see you hurt again.", Sky sighed. 

"Uncle, I know how much you worry about me, with my mom out of the blue, suffering from a back injury at last year's Regionals and going through PTSD. But you don't have to worry about me, Uncle. I'll be ok and you can trust Derek.", Emily smiled. "Don't worry, Sky. I'll look after her and I promise that I'll never hurt her.", Derek sighed. 

"Ok, I believe you, and I accept you two to be together.", Sky replied. Emily smiles and hugs him. "Thank you, Uncle.", Emily sighed, as Sky hugs her back. Sky comes up to Derek and hugs him. "I'm sorry man.", Sky sighed. "Don't be. There's nothing to be sorry for.", Derek sighed. "I'll leave you both of start your lessons.", Sky replied, as he and Paige leaves. 

As they both walk out of the door, Paige comforts Sky. "You ok?", Paige asked. "Yeah, I'm ok, I feel so much better. I'm now thinking of how Scott's going to react to them.", Sky replied, as he and Paige leaves together. 

After Sky and Paige left, Emily and Derek embrace lovingly and share a kiss together. They then press their foreheads together and Emily smiles at him. "What?", Derek asked. "You made me the happiest girl in the world.", Emily smiled. Derek smiles at her words. "Date me.", Derek sighed. "What?", Emily asked. 

"Date me, Emily. I want us go on a date, as a way to make us official.", Derek sighed. Emily is surprised by his words. "Will you go out with me?", Derek asked. "Yes.", Emily smiled. They share another kiss before they start their dancing lessons together. After their lessons, Derek drives Emily home. 

"I was thinking, we should go on our first date tonight.", Derek smiled. "Yeah?", Emily asked. "Why not? It's going to be a beautiful night tonight.", Derek replied. "Ok, let's do it.", Emily smiled. "Great, pick you up at 6 tonight ok?", Derek asked. "Sounds good.", Emily smiled. "Cool, see you later.", Derek smiled, kissing her goodbye before leaving. 

Emily goes inside the apartment, heading to her bedroom and group chats Gen and Juliet about her date with Derek. The two girls are shocked by the news and they both come over to the apartment. "Derek Williams asked you out?!", Gen asked. "Yeah, he did.", Emily asked. "How and when?", Gen asked. "We hit off after Regionals.", Emily replied. "How did your uncle react, to see you with his best friend?", Juliet asked. 

"At first, he was against it. But he accepts it, I mean, he and Paige were just like Derek and I when they got together, and her family was against it at first before they accepted them.", Emily replied. "And tonight, will be your first official date?", Juliet asked. 

"Yeah and I need you guys to help me get ready for tonight. I wanna look nice for him.", Emily smiled. "Ok, let's get started!", Gen smiled, as she and Juliet gets Emily ready for her date.
