Emily drove all the way home and park Scott's car at the apartment building's parking lot and heads up in the elevator to her apartment level. Emily heads inside the apartment. "Dad, I'm home. Where are you?", Emily asked. "I'm in the living room.", Scott called out and Emily goes to the living room.
"I got home as fast as I could, after you said there's something is very important. What is it?", Emily asked, as she arrives to the living room and finds her father, sitting on the couch, with Martha next to him. Martha turns and sees Emily for the first time in years. Emily is shock and stunned by her presence. "Hey, Em. It's so good to see you.", Martha smiled.
Emily is speechless and remembers the night her mother walked out on her when she was just a little girl. Anger and resentment hits Emily in the spot. "What are you doing here, Mom?", Emily asked. "I was thinking the same thing.", Scott replied. "I wanted to see you.", Martha replied. "You wanted to see me? After 15 years?!", Emily scoffed.
"I know that you must be still angry at me.", Martha sighed. "Yes, I'm still angry, I'm angry that you walked out on me, a 4 year old. You were never there, when I needed you the most. You didn't show up on any special days of my life, birthdays, Christmas and not even dance competitions. You weren't even here when I was going through my injury or my PTSD.", Emily cried.
"Emily, honey I'm sorry. I'm so sorry that I was never there for you.", Martha cried. "You had no idea what I went through last year, when I ripped my back at Regionals, and you were never there when I had to make a long recovering journey to get back at doing what I love in life!", Emily screamed, while pounding her fist at the arm-couch with rage.
"I know and I'm so sorry that I wasn't there to support you and leave you to be supported by your father and your uncle.", Martha sighed. "You're sorry?!", Emily yelled. "Em, take it easy on your mother.", Scott replied. "Are you serious, Dad? You're literally taking her side?", Emily asked. "I'm not taking anybody's side. I just want to live the peace.", Scott replied.
"Look, Emily. I know I haven't been the mother you always wanted, but I'm here now, to make things right with you.", Martha replied. "Shut up! You're not my mother, and you'll never will be.", Emily replied, which left Scott and Martha speechless. "Emily...", Martha cried, but Emily walks out of the apartment in anger.
Emily slams the door and breaks down in tears. She runs out of the building and ran throughout the city, not knowing where she's heading. She eventually return back to Derek's apartment building. She heads inside and up to his apartment floor, knocking on his door again. Derek opens the door and sees Emily standing there in tears.
"Hey, I thought you had something important at home.", Derek replied, but Emily didn't say a word and hugs him, while crying. Derek is confused why she is upset and comforts her in his arms. Back at Emily's apartment, Scott and Martha enjoys a cup of coffee together at the living room, talking about Emily.
"I'm so sorry about Emily. I can't believe she said that to you.", Scott replied. "Can you blame her? She has every right to be angry at me.", Martha replied. "Still, I didn't raise her to talk like that. She has to apologise to you.", Scott sighed.
"Scott, I know you want me to rekindle my relationship with Emily, I really do. But we need to encourage Emily to do the same.", Martha sighed. "I know, but I can't convince her, and either is Sky or Paige.", Scott replied. "Well there must be someone who can convince her.", Martha sighed, then it hits Scott. "Derek!", Scott cried, realising that Derek might be the person who can convince Emily.
