Strictly Dancing: A New Generation

The Birthday

The week before Nationals, it's Emily's birthday and is so excited to celebrate with her family and friends, especially with Derek, who get to celebrate with her for the first time. On the morning of her birthday, Scott takes her out to her favourite cafe for a birthday breakfast, where she orders her favourite pancakes. 

"So what's your plan for today?", Scott asked. "Well, Derek's taking me out to the beach in Coney Island this afternoon and Gen and Juliet are taking me out to a rooftop karaoke bar in the city tonight.", Emily replied. "Ok, sounds great.", Scott smiled. Then, Sky and Paige arrives and joins them. "Hey, sorry we're late. I hope you guys haven't order without us.", Sky replied. 

"No, we were just waiting.", Scott smiled. "Happy Birthday, Em.", Paige smiled, hugging Emily from behind. "Thanks, Paige.", Emily smiled. "Here you go, kid.", Sky smiled, giving Emily her birthday present, which is in a pink gift bag. Emily opens her gift and reveals inside a beautiful pair of diamond stud earrings. 

Emily is amazed by the gift. "Thanks, Uncle. They're beautiful.", Emily smiled. "Here's mine.", Paige replied, giving Emily her gift, which is in a red gift bag. Emily opens it and inside is a pair of red stiletto heels, covered in red rhinestones. "Paige!", Emily smiled. "They were on sale!", Paige smiled. "Thanks, I love it!", Emily smiled, hugging Paige.

"You're ready for mine?", Scott asked. "Yes!", Emily smiled. "Here, happy birthday, sweetheart.", Scott sighed, giving her gift, which is in a green Gucci gift box, which is Emily's favourite fashion design brand. Emily knew her dad would spoil her rotten and opens it with excitement. She lift up the box lid and inside a beautiful Gucci designer bag. 

"Dad, you didn't!", Emily cried. "Paige told me how much you wanted this bag, so I got it for you.", Scott smiled. Emily is speechless and hugs Scott. "I love you, Dad.", Emily sighed. "I love you too, sweetheart.", Scott sighed, hugging her back. "Come on, let's order some breakfast.", Paige smiled, as they all seated look at the cafe's menu, and of course Emily order the pancakes. 

That afternoon, Emily wears her best beach outfit and Derek arrives to her apartment, wearing his best beach outfit. "Hey!", Derek greeted, as Emily goes out of the apartment building. "Hi!", Emily smiled, giving him a kiss. Derek present her a massive bouquet of hot pink roses in front of her eyes.

"Happy Birthday!", Derek replied, giving her the roses. Emily gasp by the beautiful sight and held the roses in her hands. "They're beautiful, thank you.", Emily sighed, before taking a deep sniff. "And they smell divine!", Emily smiled. "You're ready to go?", Derek asked. 

"Yes.", Emily smiled, as Derek opens the door for her and lets her inside his car, before closing the door for her and getting in. They both drive away and head to Coney Island, where the beach is packed. Upon arrival, Derek and Emily heads down to the beach and find a spot to leave their belongings. They find a nice spot, and set up the beach umbrella and beach seats. 

"Ok, now everything's set up, let's go for a swim.", Derek smiled. "Actually, I want to relax first.", Emily replied. "Ok, your loss.", Derek replied, taking off his shirt, revealing his ripped, yet muscular body. Emily is stunned by this, once she lay eyes on his body, her eyes widen and her jaw drop down. Derek drops his shirt and runs to the ocean as Emily watch from the distance. 

Derek then dives into the ocean and swims, while Emily smiles and sat down on one of the chairs and pull out a book to read. A couple of minutes, Derek comes out of the ocean, and as he ran, Emily slowly takes off her sunglasses and in her mind she watches Derek running in slow motion, with water dripping down his face and body.
