A week later, it's one of the biggest dance competition in the world - Nationals! On the day of Nationals, Emily wakes up with a bright smile and excitement, as she gets herself ready for the biggest competition of her life!
After breakfast, Emily heads off to the dance academy, where she meets Derek and her friends and together, they take the bus with the whole school and heads to the venue, where Nationals will be held.
Sky and Paige is already there, waiting for Emily's arrival and once she gets off the bus, Emily heads straight to her assigned dressing room, to get ready for her first dance routine, which is her solo routine
Scott and Martha arrives, alongside his family and Paige's family, who came for moral support for Emily. Scott decides to watch the whole competition in the audience, alongside Martha, whilst Sky remains behind the curtain to guide Emily throughout the competition. Paige helps Emily, Gen and Juliet get ready their solo routines.
The competition has already started and contestants from different academies have started performing their number. Inside the dressing room, Emily puts on her dance costume, which is an orange, red and yellow leotard, with fire patterns and fire-coloured rhinestones, and her hair is tied into a bun with a red ribbon tied around it, and she wore fire coloured eyeshadow and red matte lipstick.
"Ok, you're ready to go, now go out there and wait until they call out your name.", Paige replied, as Emily walks out of her dressing room. Emily heads to the end of the curtain, where Sky and Derek is. "Em, right on time.", Sky smiled. "When am I up?", Emily asked. "After Gen, you're next.", Sky replied. Emily nods and soon after getting the info, Gen finished her solo routine.
Gen runs back behind the curtains and hugs Emily. "Good luck out there.", Gen smiled, before heading back to her dressing room to change. "Ok, now remember, what I said last time at Regionals. Just focus on one important thing in your life.", Derek replied.
"My mom.", Emily sighed. "That's right, and she's here today, watching you, so if you feel troubled, just think about her and you'll be fine.", Derek sighed. "Ok!", Emily sighed, taking a deep breath before walking out onstage.
"Next up, dancing the smooth jazz, it's Emily Taylor!", the announcer called out, and everyone claps for Emily, who gets into position, as Katy Perry's song, Rise plays in the background.
As the song plays, Emily starts dancing and remembers when she injured herself at the first Regionals, and completely humiliated back then. She even remember when her PTSD hits her when she returns to dancing, after recovery. But with Derek's words in her eyes, Emily doesn't let her pain and suffer get to her again, and she dance through her way, nailing every step.
After the song comes to an end, Emily pose after performing her routine and everyone applauded, including Martha who is in tears, after seeing Emily dance in front of her eyes for the first time. Emily bows to the judges and heads backstage. Once inside, she is cheered by Derek and Sky. "You did it, Em!", Sky smiled. "You're amazing, and I'm proud of you.", Derek smiled.
"Thanks, I better get dressed for the group dance now. I'll be back out here later.", Emily smiled, as she returns to the dressing room and quickly changes out of her dance costume for the next one. As Emily gets ready, Juliet returns back to the dressing room, after performing her solo routine, and quickly changes.
The three girls' dance costume is actually a cheerleading uniform and all three of them wore blue, white and gold cheerleading dresses, with blue and white sneakers. They all tied their hairs into high half up-dos and wore blue and silver eyeshadow with bright pink lipstick, and they each have blue, silver and gold pom-poms in their hands, as props for their routine.
