Strictly Dancing: A New Generation

Misunderstanding

That night, Emily gets out of the bathroom after taking a hot shower and gets ready for the evening. Gen and Juliet arrives to the apartment with their outfits and accessories and help each other get ready for the night. 

Juliet dries and styles Emily's hair, while Gen applying make-up and both girls help picking out a dress for Emily to wear. They all eventually choose a beautiful and stunning sequin light and dark purple dress, with black heels to match and silver accessories. 

Gen wore a gold sequin dress with matching gold heels and accessories and Juliet wore a short emerald green sequin dress with black stiletto heels and gold accessories. After getting glammed up, the three friends depart Emily's apartment and head to the karaoke rooftop bar. Upon arrival, they order drinks of their choice. "Cheers, girls!", Emily smiled, raising her glass up. 

"Happy birthday, Em!", Gen cried, clinking her glass. "Happy birthday!", Juliet cheered, raising and clinking her glass with the others. "Thanks for tonight, guys. This is the best!", Emily smiled. "Hey, what are besties for?", Juliet smiled, hugging Emily tight. "You deserve this, Em.", Gen smiled. 

Meanwhile, at the same bar, Derek arrives and a woman, in a red dress calls out for him. "Derek!", she called out, waving her arm out. It was Vivian, his ex-girlfriend and former dance partner. "Hi.", Vivian greeted. "Hey, long time, no see.", Derek replied, as he greets her with a hug. "Yeah, it's been a long time.", Vivian smiled, hugging him back. 

"I got us a drink, and here's your beer.", Vivian smiled, sliding the beer bottle to him. "Thanks.", Derek smiled, taking the beer in his hand. "Cheers!", Vivian smiled, raising her glass of white wine. "Cheers.", Derek replied, clinking his beer bottle to her wine glass and takes a drink. 

Derek then notice a diamond engagement ring on her left ring finger. "Who's the lucky man?", Derek asked. Vivian looks down at her engagement ring and smiles. "Oh, it's Ian.", Vivian asked. "Ian? The guy you....?", Derek asked. "Yes, that Ian. The one I left you for.", Vivian sighed. "Congratulations!", Derek smiled. "Thanks, we're getting married next month.", Vivian smiled.

"Oh!", Derek replied.  "That's why I wanted to see, to let you know.", Vivian smiled. "Well, I'm happy for you, really.", Derek smiled. "Look, Derek, I know things haven't been great between since your accident and I'm so sorry that I wasn't there to support you throughout those tough times.", Vivian sighed. 

"No, it's ok. I forgive you, but things are different for me now, and I'm happy for you and Ian.", Derek smiled. "Thanks.", Vivian smiled, holding Derek's hand for a brief moment.

In the background, a couple finish singing their duet on the karaoke stage, and everyone cheers for them, including the DJ, who is operating the karaoke station. "Alright, give it up for Aaron and Jane, for their amazing performance!", the DJ replied, as everyone cheers for them, and the couple gets off stage together. 

"Alrighty! Who's next?", the DJ asked. "I guess that's my cue!", Emily smiled, as she heads to the karaoke stage. "Good luck!", Gen smiled. "Go get em', girl!", Juliet cried. Emily gets onstage and the song of Teenage Dream by Katy Perry starts to play. Vivian immediately hears her favourite song play. "Oh, my favourite song, let's watch this amazing performance.", Vivian smiled, turning her back. 

Emily starts singing the lyrics and even start dancing onstage. As Vivian turns her back to face Emily singing and dancing, Derek is shock to see Emily onstage. "Emily?", Derek asked, in shock. Vivian turns after hearing him saying Emily's name. 

"Emily? You know her?", Vivian asked. "She's my girlfriend.", Derek replied. Vivian is surprise to see that Derek has moved on and starts dating again and looks at Emily with a smile. "She's pretty. How did you know her?", Vivian asked. 

"She's my dance partner and Sky's niece.", Derek replied. "Sky? You're dating his niece?", Vivian asked. "Yeah.", Derek replied, as he looks at Emily, who is still performing. While singing and dancing onstage, Emily suddenly spots Derek in the crowd and sees him with Vivian. She suddenly sings off-tune upon seeing him with another girl. 

"What's going on?", Juliet asked. "I don't know.", Gen replied, trying to figure what's wrong. Juliet then notice Derek in the crowd. "Is that Derek?", Juliet asked. Gen looks and sees him from the distance. "Yeah, and why is he with another woman?", Gen asked. Emily drops the mic and runs offstage in tears. 

Gen and Juliet chases after her. "Em!", Juliet cried, as she and Gen both ran after her. Derek chases them from behind. "Emily, wait!", Derek cried. Emily exits out of the building with Gen and Juliet behind her. "Emily, wait up!", Gen cried. Juliet manages to catch up to Emily and grab her arm to stop her. "Emily, hey! Are you ok?", Juliet asked. 

"No, I'm not ok.", Emily cried, bursting into tears. "Talk to us, tell us what's wrong?", Juliet asked. "Derek told me he was staying home tonight, and instead, he went out and I saw him with another girl!", Emily cried. Derek eventually arrives out of the building, seeing Emily being comforted by her friends. 

"Emily!", Derek cried, trying to get close to her, but Juliet stop him by blocking his way and Gen pulls Emily behind her. "You have a lot of nerve for coming here!", Juliet yelled. "Can I please talk to Emily?", Derek asked. "No! Not after you lied to her about your whereabouts and cheating on her with another woman!", Juliet yelled. 

"It's not what it looks like! Emily!", Derek cried. "She doesn't want to talk to you!", Juliet yelled. "Jules, let him explain.", Emily sighed. "Ok, start talking. Who's the bimbo?", Juliet asked. "It was my ex-girlfriend, Vivian.", Derek sighed. All three girls sighed with annoyance. "Are you serious?!", Gen asked. 

"We're just catching up, just talking like old mates. She wanted to...", Derek replied, but his words are interrupted by Emily. "Get back together?!", Emily asked. "No! She wanted to tell me about her engagement and that she's getting married. Em, please. Believe me.", Derek replied. "I wish I could, but I don't if it's one of your lies.", Emily sighed. 

"Emily...", Derek sighed. "I'm so sorry, Derek but I can't be with someone who lies to me.", Emily sighed. "Emily!", Derek cried. "We're over!", Emily cried, as she walks away with Gen. "No, Emily please!", Derek cried, as he tries to go after her, but Juliet stops him. "You stay away from her, or I'll do something that I will regret!", Juliet yelled, before joining Gen and Emily.
