~chapter 4 of part 2~
Summary
Is it reality? The sea is meters away!"Guys, should I get a sunscreen?" Sasha asked, bringing the camera way too close to her face. Armin suddenly stopped packing to look at his phone.
Jean groaned, refusing to look at her but instead he put the phone on what looked him like a flat surface, disappearing from the others' sight. "Unless you want to look like a burnt chicken."
Armin slightly chuckled, looking through his things for the last time just in case he had forgotten something. Clothes, towels, charger, sunscreen, a bottle of water, some snacks in case anyone got hungry and a camera. Everything seemed in place, but when excitement and anxiety decide to take a role you start to doubt yourself.
"Is everybody ready? I can't seem to put through with Eren." Connie asked, pointing with his camera at his feet while walking around instead of his face. Wouldn't be a surprise if he hadn't even noticed.
Armin turned his phone at his face, trying not to shake his hand too much. "No worries, we're supposed to come together at the spot. We'll be meeting in 15 minutes." He slowly looked around the others who had turned their cameras on in the video chat.
Sasha had leaned her phone on something, showing everything she was doing, Jean wasn't even visible, Connie's feet continued to move around. Annie had hers off and Hitch was showing only her face, doing something Armin couldn't really see. It was pretty chaotic.
"Aighttt." He replied carelessly, finally standing still, maybe realizing how to use a brain and turning on his front camera.
With 'the spot' they meant a small parking lot where they were supposed to meet in less than an hour and drive to their destination together. Armin didn't have his own car, so they agreed to use Eren's. Both thought of it as a plus.
He didn't think of it as anything suspicious that Eren didn't show up on the video chat, he probably had his reasons, to save battery for the road or something. Nothing to worry about, because today was going to be just amazing.
He soon stormed out his room, completely ready with all his bags in his hands and back. Now, maybe it was kind or stupid that Eren himself didn't come and pick him up, but he knew it was better that way.
When he got down, he could hear the faint sound of a TV getting louder. Something like a weather podcast that he couldn't date less about, as he already knew it would rain and in the end he wasn't even going to be here to see. In any case, it meant his family was already downstairs. His sister and father stood thete, sat on the couch like a normal family. He frowned at the sight, but quickly hid it. Both of them turned their gazes at him.
"Aww, you seem excited, aren't you?" Historia took her hands in one another and smiled at her brother. She hadn't yet brushed her hair nor changed her pyjamas, Armin realized that her date with Ymir got cancelled today. And it made him feel pity.
"Well, its not like I impatiently waited for two weeks, but we could say that." Armin smiled back and slowly went down the stairs, careful not to fall down.
"Isn't that a lot of bags? How are you going to carry this to your friend's house?" The man decided to join the conversation, looking condescending at the many things in his arms.
