~Chapter 25 of part 2~

Eren stared at his blue eyes in awe. "I've got an idea."

Now they moved up to meet his own. "Let's leave." The brunette boy confidently continued.

And now, from tired and small they became wide and surprised. "Leave? To where?"

"Somewhere! I think we just need a change of the scenery." He climbed up on the bed next to Armin and gently took his hands in his own, his eyes shone. "And then we'll think of something. But let's get out of here first."

The blonde boy only did what sounded like a sigh of hopelessness. "No, Eren.." And suddenly the contact of their hands was lost. The brunette stared at him in confusion and surprise since he really expected nothing but an agreement to his offer. A negative response was rather.. Odd. He was met with a soft gaze.

"I'm tired of running. I feel like I've been running my whole life." Armin made a small smile he wasn't sure how he even managed to form. "Of the grief over my mother, of the loneliness I felt as a kid, of the feelings towards you. Ive suppressed them all and it never lead to anything good. Just look at how things are right now."

He suddenly remembered the date he shared with Annie. There were never feelings back then. Only him running from an obvious truth, masking it with an even more obvious lie. And right now, he was too exhausted to run. Yes, he would rather stop and await for whatever was rushing after him to get him.

"Didn't running take us where we are now?" He softly asked and Eren felt his ears start ringing.

And just now he had realized how more mature his boyfriend was than him. Well, it was always obvious. But now, as he was standing in front of him with a made decision so bold, he couldn't think of anything else.

God, why them? Weren't teenagers supposed to make wrong decisions all the time without thinking of any consequences? Or did they already use all of their free chances?

Now Eren had to think rationally. He started down at his hands that didn't hold any other any more, taking in his mind that they're his own. "What should we do then?"

Armin seemed to be checking his nails, but Eren knew his mind was rushing somewhere else. Even in such time he found him to be really beautiful. There, sitting on his white sheets with his legs crossed, he couldn't pull his eyes away. Well, and maybe wonder what else could be done on these sheets.

Another deep sigh left his lips. "For right now? I just wish there was a way to make my dad's mind. I don't want to think he just.. Doesn't care."

And even his voice was angelic. Even when it sounded worried. Even when it sounded like it's about to give up. But Eren knew he wasn't giving up. What other choice was there?

But he still listened carefully to his words. And they sounded like words he had heard before. Maybe that's why this time his idea seemed to be more realistic.

The idea of his phone in his pocket.

Her light green eyes traced around the moving surroundings, only for them to be left blurry because of the speed of the vehicle. With her chin rested on her palm, she continued to stare bluntly out of the window, lost in a comfortable silence. Only the car radio played a quiet song that she unconsciously lip synced.

Hitch wasn't sure how long had passed since they started driving. Although, she didn't mind if it continued more. The peace felt sweet, like something she'd craved without even knowing.

"I don't want to go back just yet." She heard herself say out loud.

Annie didn't flinch. "What's the destination?"

Hitch thought a little, then sighed a carefree sigh.

"I want to see your favorite place."

An answer didn't follow, but even without turning back she knew they were already heading to this direction.. Wherever it was.

At last, Hitch sat back normally and looked ahead. "You know.. I need to face my parents sooner or later."

The blonde girl took her eyes off the road for a second, taking a glance. Hitch seemed as if she had something to say but didn't. After a minute, she finished her sentence.

"I'm already an adult. They would probably kick me out after that. But that's okay.." She turned at Annie with a sad smile. "It never felt like home anyway."

"I.." Annie felt her stomach getting into a knot. Something about this made her for some reason anxious, so much her heart had started to race. "If you, if this happens, you can come home." She blurted out quickly. "My home."

Now Hitch's smile was sincere. She knew it was too much to ask for after everything, yet she still felt happy she asked. She laughed at the situation.

"Your birthday gift."
