"Right! Edea did had a Phoenix by her side once. You're lucky, we just happen to be really close by it's lair."

"Too bad, we have to continue our way to the Lantern City though. But I'm sure we'll meet you there soon."

I looked at them sympathetically with a smile as I came back with the thoughts of Edea. Even though she left us with a memorable song, I could feel my heart being shattered into pieces.

I stared down into the ground as a memory slipped by my mind.

"Jin, Yin, take good care of yourselves. I won't be coming back for a while."

My eyes glowed a bright blue and burned a flower into crisp which I was looking at. I picked it up which immediately falls into ashes.

Dear buddha.

This ability could destroy the entire world if it got out of control.

As I looked up, the two demons disappeared from their places. As if it was a while since I spaced out. In fact, it has.

Within that short period of time, two days had passed and I had made no progress of what so ever. I panicked as I grabbed my watch from my bag.

And I was right.

Even though that flashback was, it passed by two whole days.

I was beyond panicked as I crumbled to my knees. Repeatedly saying that I had made no progress at all. I felt angered and sad by it. But knowing there wasn't much time left, I decided to go look for that Phoenix.

Wherever it may be hiding or sleeping, I shall find it's lair and free him from it.

Then again, the two demons did say it was nearby. Though, I find the location quite. . .obvious.

There's a literal cave in front of me that's been covered by a huge rock, grass and other various plants.

I just glared at it a split second until I finally snapped.

"What the heck?"

"Are you for real?!"

"Wow, you got some nerve showing me a flashback that took two entire days that made me slow down on my mission."

I constantly mumbled to myself. Cursing Edea for being such a nuisance and not taking my mission seriously.

It's true that she passed but for some reason she still remained inside my head. I don't mind if she lives inside my head. But when it comes to sharing memories. . .eh. . .yeah no. I don't her to see all those things with Macaque.

Get out!

But hey, I can't get to decide whether she leaves or not. Only if she feels like it, she may leave.

Oh how happy I would feel if she mind her own business and not start peeking in my memories.

Any how, I have to find a way to get rid of this huge rock.

Sure, I can blast it again like I did to that mountain but I needed a way to get it open properly. I can't just destroy someone's home.

Unless I get permission.

My heart started throbbing as I found someone's handprint marked behind the vines. The size fits perfectly with mine as I reconciled it with mine.

And just like that, the core glew a bright blue and the rock exploded into tiny pieces.

"What a waste." I said as I looked at the pieces around the floor.

I looked inside the cave and found myself walking on my own towards the sound of a song.

'loo-li lai-lay'

My eyes grew and began to sprint towards the deep singing voice. Just as the trail couldn't get any longer, my e/c shimmered from across the cave.

It revealed a sleeping Phoenix with a figure sitting and singing next to it.

"Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay"

The figure's voice was soothing that it stung my heart deeply. What got me the most was. . .

Macaque.

The real Macaque.

The one with the scar on his eye.

The monkey turned his head towards me and simply had no reaction of what so ever. As if he didn'r know me.

"You found out about her Phoenix, huh?"

"What are you doing here. Why didn't you approach me!" I shouted.

Completely ignoring what he just said.

"Calm down, Lotus-"

"Don't tell me to calm down! You- you pervy little. . .monkey. . .cat- thingy!"

Macaque was taken a back from my harsh tone.

He didn't expect for me to go full out on him like this.

He thought I'd ran up to him and say that I had missed him.

Oh, how wrong he was.

"How dare you just act like as if nothing had happened between us and that 'incident' of you acting as my cat! That's disgusting!" I exclaimed.

I snapped my fingers which woke the Phoenix up and look at me. Patiently waiting for orders before doing anything else.

"Since when do y-"

"You don't deserve to know anything about me. Especially not after apologizing about wha-"

"Listen! Lotus!" He cut me off by screaming out loud.

I too was taken a back from his harsh voice and the fact that he was covered in ice on one side of his body, didn't make it any better.

"I risked my life to just. . .get away from Lady Bone Demon. I some how escaped her from my thoughs but. . .she's still onto me. I tried my best to get back together with you. But look where it has gotten me. I'm a failure."

My eyes grew as Macaque made his way into the shadows. Just before he disappeared. I called out for him. My face expression remaining irritated.

He turned around to look at me once more and deepened his frown.

"Come here. Now."

"I'm not your-"

"Now."

"I'm not your pet!"

My anger grew as he disobeyed my words.

I ended up blasting him with my fire.

Which shocked him even more.

"This is it. It's just like before. . ." He said as he let's out a painful chuckle.

I made my way towards him and sat down.

Macaque stared at me with his watery eyes as he crawled up to my legs.

How cold he was.

His furr freezing along with his face and hands.

Macaque closed his eyes and whimpered the pain he's been going through.

"I'm sorry. . .don't hurt me. . ." He whispered.

Macaque sat up and wrapped his arm around my waist and leaning his head down to my chest. Arguing about something silly that happened a while back ago, wasn't necessarily anymore.

I should be happy of seeing him again instead of complaining.

"No, no. . .I should be sorry. I complained about unreasonable things. I should be happy that your with me now."

Macaque started to whimper once again.

It went on like this for hours until he fell asleep on my chest. The blue Phoenix laid down next to Macaque and I and made sure he was kept save and warm.
