I awoke with an aching neck. Gross, the side of my face had a slight tint of green to it. As well as his skinny jeans. Why do I have to keep sleeping out in the wild? I'm not too fond of it, I'll say that. It's been too long. I haven't even slept in my own bed in weeks. It's slowly driving me insane. I don't think I'm the only one either.

"Good morning, sleepy head," said Bry as she playfully slapped my face. Her hand felt warm, and it stirred a sort of uncomfortable feeling inside of my stomach... Butterflies? I don't know, but whatever it is, it makes me nervous. Even though I feel so nervous around her, I feel so happy. She's not as stupid as Violet or half of the kids in my grade. She also accepts my whole ego when no one else can. Though she's not special enough to touch my hair. At least not yet. My hair is pretty much my pride, but I don't think anyone realizes that. It's the only thing I'm sensitive about.

"Hey, that's not very nice. Do you want me to slap you?" I smile at her and didn't really care about how groggy my voice sounds. "I'm kidding with you. I wouldn't-"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, you wouldn't slap a girl. I know!" Bry said as she rolled her eyes at me. How disrespectful! She giggled, and flipped her blonde hair behind her right shoulder. Her hair flip wasn't as nearly as sexy as mine.

Violet woke up, her face ashen from a terrible dream. Or because she just woke up. Duke looks at her, a bit concerned about Violet as he begins to carefully guide her to a stand. She wobbles a bit but manages to stay standing. I'm definitely not falling for her sick act. It's horrible. I'm better at it! Sometimes...

She can't say a word as she shakes her head in worry. Violet turns to look at me, a bit sad. She opened her mouth to say something, nothing but whimpers. Something was really bothering her, but I didn't know what. I can't tell if she's really feeling ill or the dream she had last night really shook her. Sixty percent of myself could care less how she's feeling and the other half I guess slightly cares about how she's going... So I go with that sixty percent and act as if she is fine and nothing happened. As I kept thinking about that, Violet kept yelling my name. Was I day-dreaming for a while? Violet glared at me with her electric blue eyes as she waited for a response. She placed her hands on her hips irritably. Violet was clearly not in the mood for my sarcasm. So, this is definitely the best time to use it!

"Sorry, Miss I-Can-Always-Get-My-Way, I wasn't paying attention. What did you say?" I played a cocky smile, and Violet exploded. Maybe it was a bad idea to use sarcasm. Bry looked a bit annoyed as well.

"Kris, did you not even listen? I'm trying to tell my dream, and you're not even paying attention!" She sighs, and collapses into a sit. Violet stressfully hides her face in her hands. "I'm sorry, it's just that... My dream, it's really weird..." She lifts up her head and reveals her face again. Violet's oddly pale, still.

"It's cool. Don't be so uptight, sheesh!" I laughed a bit. This made Violet crack a smile. It made me smile, too.

"Okay, well, now will you listen?" Violet says calmly as her smile fades away. I nodded at her, and she began her story. "Well, I was a little girl in my dream. About the age of seven, I think. I was standing in the kitchen looking up at my 'mom'. It wasn't her, though. She had orange hair, freckles, and she was a lot paler than us. She even has green eyes. So, this couldn't possibly be our mother... It was that same girl I saw back t the forest. The one who saved me from being killed by an Anicept. I didn't know her, but she appeared out of no where and shot her with this sort of... Laser gun?" She sighed yet again, only it was a nervous sigh. "This dream is just really weird to me. Maybe it'll pass and it's nothing."

Duke seems a bit concerned, as well as Anne. They both take each other, and walk a ways and then turned so their backs faced us. They were talking about something. I kind of want to know... Slowly, I begin to slither towards them, but Bry grabs onto my arm before I could get too close to hear anything. Bry, why would you do that? She raises her pointer finger and places it on her lips. It was a signal for me to be quiet. That's very hard for me to do.

They rounded up their conversation. Anne was frustrated with Duke because he cut her off when she was trying to explain something in a rather loud whispering voice. "Hey, we're getting ready to go. Violet, you and I will have a talk in the back of the group. Anne'll join us, too. Maybe you won't feel as lonely or annoyed hangin' around an old man!" He chuckles, then grins as he turns his eyes on me. "Then you two lovebirds can flirt 'till days end, like yesterday," He winks at Bry and I. My face heats up as my cheeks flushed. No, this is embarrassingly horrible! "Aww, Kris's blushin'!" Duke laughs. I grumble as Bry looks at me awkwardly after I stand up and start walking. This day has already started off badly embarrassing.

Maybe I do like Bry? I don't know. I'm unsure of my feelings for her... It's probably all in my head. Besides, why would she even like a guy like me?
