The transformation begins

We nodded to the ape that informed us of the ambush group up ahead that we're ready as we led and scared the deer and elk towards them.

Then we got into position, some of us below the trees and some of us above the trees, waited for the right moment to strike. Some apes had they're bow and arrows out already and some of the apes had spears and bows out as well.
We all waited for the single that koba was to give out for the hunt to begin

I look at koba nodded to him to start the hunt.

Silence....

Raaaaaahhhhhh!!!!
Koba shot his fist out above him while he screamed out loud to scare the prey below us.

It worked like a charm

They booked it the other way we wanted them to go

We chased them towards the ambush party.

Some of the apes shot down some elk while others killed some deer with they're spears and arrows they shot from they're bows.

I swung from tree to tree with koba and the other apes that were with us in the trees.
We then saw them start to go downhill hidden from our hunting troops. We then started to scale down the trees and run after them. Lots of deer and elk were killed but I wanted to get my first kill to show my mentor how proud I can make him if I killed one or two.
So I pulled out my bone arrow and bow that koba gave to me along with the bone set he gave to me a year ago.

I put in an arrow and aimed at a elk that was slower then the rest. And released it.
It shot at its leg wounding it as it fell down the hill colliding with a small but strong tree that stopped it from moving any further down the hill.

Later

As me and the rest of the tribe successfully killed enough elk and deer for the tribe back home me and koba went to go check on that injured deer I shot in the leg before we gathered together so we could bring the kills on the horses for when we leave to go home.

As we scaled down the hill to the small tree that the elk was laying down at.
Koba noticed a tree with markings on it up ahead.
He signed to me and told me to wait here with the injured elk.

He was there a little bit at the tree up ahead.
I was keeping my spear downward to the elk that was injured ready to kill it at any moment but out of the blue. A large bear with a scar across its face charged at me from the huge ferns that it was hiding in.
It swiped at me.
I blocked it with my spear as it's other large paw swung at my unprotected side as it slashed at my clothes ripping my clothes and skin almost hitting my ribs from underneath my muscle.
It was a deep and bad wound it gave me.

Koba then came rushing at the bear with his spear downward into its tough hide and fur.
His spear got stuck in its back and he was thrown off it.

He came to in front of me as he got into a protective stance calling out to the hunting tribe out far away in the field that were currently packing up the kills on the horses and waiting for us to come back.

We need to get out of here fast.

Then the bear did a fake lunge as koba jumped forward and attacked it thinking it was lunging it us.

It pinned him down and held him there with a large paw as it's mighty huge face got closer to his face opening it's jaws to crush kobas head with one snap of its jaws.

It felt as time was slower.
I felt my wounds heal a lot faster then it did before long time ago.

I watched as the bear was right before his face it's jaws opening wide.
