Saturday

Ben and Jessie are kidnapping me for a whole day for my birthday.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
"To a place," Jessie giggles in the passenger seat. Ben is driving.
"Thankfully your father allowed you," Ben says. "I was kind of scared to ask."
"Yeah," I say. Father hasn't talked to me since I left his house. I was surprised as well for him to let Ben take me out.
"So, why haven't you been around with Harold?" Jessie asks.
"Umm, we just don't get that well anymore," I reply.
"Wow, so no more over protected brother?" Ben says amused.
"I guess." Man, I feel weird talking about Harold. I kind of miss him to be honest.
"We are here," Jessie exclaims. We get out of the car and we are at a golf course.
"Hope you enjoy golf," Ben says.
"I haven't played it," I say.
He takes my hand. "I'll teach you."
Jessie rolls her eyes, "She isn't into you brother." She drags me towards the entrance. We settle in the field. Ben drives in with a golf cart and the equipment.
"Okay, let's play!" Jessie says.
It is actually interesting. There's a lot of focus a player needs to get to hit the ball. I pretty much suck but Ben is a good player.
"Let's go eat," Ben smiles.
"You won," I say. "So where to?"
"We can eat here at the resort," he says. We go in the cart and Jessie drives.
...
I'm heading back to Aunt Bethany house.
"It was great, thanks guys," I smile at the pretty twins. We are in the front door of house. I have a teddy bear Ben gave me in my arms.
"Welcome," they say.
"Bye, see you Monday," I open the door and go in. I sigh. It was a good day. I run towards my room.
"Hey," as soon as I open the door, I see Harold sitting on my bed.
What the hell? Why is he here?
"You went out? Who gave you the bear?" He asks as he stands.
"Umm," I say, "why are you here?"
He quickly gets me in his arms. "I can't stop thinking about you."
"No, get away," I let the bear go and try to push him.
"Why are avoiding me Cassandra?" He asks.
"We can't be together. I don't want to be with you Harold. Your parents know now," I say.
He kisses me but he is putting too much pressure that it hurts my lips.
I mumble in between the kiss to stop. I push him on his chest but he has a good grip.
"Cassie!" I hear someone.
Harold pushes me to the bed and gets on top. "Stop please, someone is here," I say.
He shakes his head, "don't care."
His lips meet mine again with the same pressure. I don't like it.
I try to turn him over but he is in between my legs. His hand goes to my breast.
"Cassie, hey!" It's Ben!
Harold jumps and I stand. I look at Ben who is confuse. "I-I can explain," I say.
"What are you doing here?" Harold asks Ben.
"What the hell were you kissing?" Ben asks. "Is this why you didn't want to go out with me?"
"Yeah," Harold says. He gets me from the waist and pulls me to his side.
"No!" I push him.
"This is disgusted Cassie. He's your brother!"
"No, wait, please," I try to stop him from leaving but I'm unsuccessful.
I'm standing in my door way. No, he saw us. He's going to tell Jessie. They know too.
"Cassie?" Harold asks.
Father is going to be more upset.
"Leave, Ms. Bethany will be here any minute," I say.
"Look, I jus-"
I turn to him, "leave!"
He leaves and I begin to cry. What the hell just happened?
Then I hear her voice, "See, just like your mother."
No I'm not. My mom wasn't a whore because she wanted to. I'm not one either.
....
"Stop following her!" I hear father yell at Harold. They are in the kitchen. I'm in his house in the living room. Ben did tell jessie and their mother overheard. Their father got informed as well and told my father that he won't fund him anymore.
"I love her!" Harold yells.
"You can't!"
"Why? We aren't blood related,"
"I'm married to your mother! I raised you, you are my son. How can my son love my daughter?"
"You are young," Kelly says. "You don't love her. You got bewitched my her looks."
"So now it's Cassandra fault?" Father says.
"It is!" Kelly yells.
Oh gosh, now they are fighting. I quickly go to the kitchen. "Stop!"
"Tell them Cassie, you want to be together," Harold says.
"I just wanted a family. I didn't mean to destroy this one. I'm sorry. I just want to leave."
"Leave," Angel says. She comes in, "Just do it."
"Angel please," father says. He rubs his eyes in stress.
"I will," I say. I turn to father. "I think it was never meant to be for you to find me."
"Don't say-"
"Darwin," I say with a lump in my throat, "I'm leaving. I am your daughter but it's not your responsibility to take care of me. I'll be fine. I always was."
There's silence. Darwin is just there. He's probably taking everything in.
I hug father. "Thank you. I swear I didn't mean harm." I kiss his cheek and exit the house. No one follows me, maybe Harold wanted to but Kelly stopped him.
I walk all the way to Ms. Bethany house. I walk in and see her standing in front of me with Alice in her arms. "Your dad called me sweetie," she says.
I nod. "Don't worry. I have money my grandmother left me. I'm going to leave."
Ms. Bethany walks towards me and places my hair back. "You know, I used to have a crush on my first cousin. He was so handsome and kind. At first, I didn't know who he was, so I instantly liked him. My uncle saw us kissing and boy we got in so much trouble. When i discovered who he was, I was puzzled. I was 14 and read about how people use to marry cousins and such," she says.
"So?" I ask.
"So, then I knew there wasn't much sin but it was taboo and not accepted in my family. My cousin agreed it was not good and we never spoke again. What I'm trying to say is that love isn't evil. But when you fall in love with someone you can't be with then it is evil. Harold is not your brother, but your father raised him. He can't see the difference in Harold's DNA, he is Darwin's son."
"I know,"
"Do you really want to leave?"
I nod.
"Okay, how about you do it with dignity? Tomorrow, we go talk to your father. Then go to school to make the arrangements, and say goodbye to your friends?"
"I don't have friends anymore,"
"How do you know? Did they tell you not to be their friend anymore?"
"I don't know, but I just rather not say anything."
...
Next day
We are at the principal office. Father is signing the papers to drop me from school. Ms. Bethany is here too.
"Okay, everything is done," the principal says. We get out of the office and start to exit the building. I don't want to say goodbye to Roger or Brian. I think they know or will. I'm afraid of what their reaction might be.
