                                  ~2 hours later~

The sun had set leaving the world shrouded in darkness.

"Alright. Let's try to get outta here." Arthur announced as he woke up Bill and Uncle. Uncle started whining and trying to justify his bad call on the days events.

Charles cut in, looking up towards the house. "Shut up. There's a light over by the house." All four of the outlaws ducked down and hid as they listened to the scene unfold at the front door of the house.

"Is this your place?" The men holding the light asked of the two squatters when they answer the door.

"Kinda."

"And you didn't hear nothing?"

"I-I....I...."

"Why don't you just tell me partner, what you heard. Go ahead, go ahead. Tell me what you heard."

"I don't.... maybe I heard some noises out by the barn a while ago?"

The two men headed down to the barn, lanterns extended at arms length in front of them.

"Well the place looks deserted enough..."

"Sure. You head inside, I'll go around the back."

The man entered and looked around briefly.

"Place looks empty to me. Now, the old guy up there is full of crap."

"Yeah, I don't think they're here. Don't see any horses. Come on, let's head back."

"Boss! Place is empty."

Suddenly someone knocked over something in the barn causing a loud clatter of noise.

"SHIT!" Were the man's last words as Charles shot him dead, causing him to drop his lantern igniting the place on fire. Whistles started going off alerting all pursuing men that they'd found their perpetrators. An all out war zone erupted as droves of Cornwall's men attempted to close in on the four outlaws.

Kay pulled her bandanna up to hide her face as she hunkered down on the backside of the roof, using the ridge to steady her rifle. She was just about to fire when she stopped. This would be the perfect time to use her new pistol upgrade she'd just finished  machining the day before.

She quickly set her rifle down and pulled out the metal threaded cylinder from her satchel along with her side arm. She screwed the device to the end of her pistol and took aim at one of the pursuers that was taking cover directly below her on the side of the house. She pulled the trigger and the man dropped like a sack of flour on the ground, the shot alerting no one to her presence.

"Nice!" She whispered to herself. She lined up another man in her sites and pulled the trigger, taking him out with a headshot. One by one she strategically eliminated Cornwall's men as they advanced towards the burning structure below, never once alerting any of the pursuers to her position or existence.

Aim, -'THUMP'-, 1 down. Aim, -'THUMP'-, 2 down. Aim, -'THUMP'-, 3 down, again and again until finally there was a lull in the onslaught. She sees the four outlaws escape the burning building and flee in two different directions into the woods.

She takes the opportunity and slides down the rooftop to the first level roof and slips back in the window and moves to the collapsed stairwell and drops back down to the dresser she'd positioned below. On her way out she sees the two squatters cowering in a corner behind some old furniture. She runs over and tosses them the promised $10 each.

"Thank you gentlemen. I'll be on my way now." She quickly heads to the boarded up window she'd used to enter through then exits the house. Suddenly she hears gunfire break out again from the direction of the forest. As she rounds the house to head towards the fire fight she sees the backs of several men taking cover behind rocks and trees as well as a few still heading into the fray.
