Axel

I grab Emily's wrist unintentionally fierce. I pull her into the corridor and her back bounces against the wall, her eyes never leaving mine. I stare back in return feeling nothing but anger flaring up in every part of me.

"Why did you bring him?" I slam her to the wall as her eyes finches at the impact.

She gulps for a second before answering.

"I didn't know what else to do, I just thought it might help somehow." She says in between sobs.

The tears rolling down her face makes me instantly realize how my anger and pain is being projected on to her. I quickly take a step back and I soften.

"I'm sorry, Emily."

I burst into tears and then place my head against her shoulder. Now we're both shedding all the tears we've been holding back.

After Emily and I had spoken things out and both had come to an understanding regarding our actions and especially our emotions, I head back to Stella's ward.

Just as I'm about to enter the room, Callum comes out and our shoulders knock.

"Sorry, dude."

"Are you really?" I ask, anger bubbling up again.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me."

"What's your problem?"

"Well hasn't been pretty clear? You. You're the damn problem."

"Well, I'm sorry but I just came here to sort some things out for the better."

"You keep apologizing and it's making me sick." I say with pure disgust.

"I mean it when I said I'm sorry,-"

"Wait, what do you mean you came here to sort out things for the better? Don't tell me you-"

"I did. I had to-"

"You bastard!" I fume, grabbing him by the shirt. Tears stream down my face as my grip becomes tighter.

"Do you have any conscience?" I decide to question his stupidity.

"You don't understand!" He says, pushing me to the back trying to make me unhand him.

"No! You're the one who doesn't understand!"

He is silent for a moment, waiting for me to explain.

"I was the guy she tried loving but failed but you... you were the guy she loved and kept on loving." My heart stings at the truth.

I don't stop there with honesty.

"All the things that has happened has been about choices. The only difference between the two of us is that you chose to lose her whilst I chose to love her. And maybe that's my downfall in the end but she was worth it and you're an idiot for not realizing it but I guess that's your loss to deal with once you do."

My heart no longer stings. It burns. It burns for her.

Stella was right about memory all along. There's just some that you wish you forgot. But her fate was to remember. Life made sure she never forgot.

I had her for a moment and then lost her in an instant

That's our story.

Or rather, it is just mine.
