Axel

She's forgotten her potential to love and loves just what she remembers, nostalgia has that type of hold on her when it comes to Callum. Although time has come with some acceptance, what remains to sadden me is the fact that I couldn't change it. Her heart stays with whom she once loved and I'm not certain if there will be anyone who will come to surpass it. But if they do, I'd like to think of it fondly and try and put my feelings aside.

As all the interns gather, we are all called up to a stage where we are chosen into different departments who resonates with our year's design work the most. I scan the friend group faces and their successes have evidently paid off by the happiness they're displaying. Then as per usual my train of thought, makes its stop at Stella once again.

But I tried though. I really did.

In all, endings are not really my strong point but there's no way I'd get out of saying goodbye in this one.

Stella's eyes crinkle as she smiles at me, a bit wary, putting her hand out to congratulate me on making it on another companies Design Team. We shake hands and I warmly return the smile.

I've read too many of Stella's fanfictions and watched too many romantic tragedy shows to be able to point out a feeling like this.

This was no different to an ending. This is the end.

This is where we part ways, hoping I drag every piece of her sadness with me. Hoping what's to come is better. Hoping her lingering pain diminishes and lastly, hoping the way I see her romantically, dies.

Goodbye. Goodbye, Stella.

Along with all the memories.

And as we end off our internship and a new chapter begins for each one of us, I still can see that inerasable sadness behind her eyes.
