I drew in a sharp breath, "Do you really know how old I am?" I asked.

Steve-O chuckled, "Okay, what kind of question is that?"

I kept a serious face and went on, "Steve-O, I'm serious here..."

His joking smile fell to a serious face, his lips pursed. Steve-O kneeled on both knees in front of me and took both of my hands and looked me in the eyes and said in a low voice, "Katie, you know you can trust me with anything."

I knew what he said was very dear because of the way his hazel eyes pierced through my deep blue eyes, the way he held my hands in his. I stared back into his hazel colored eyes. I hoped he wouldn't freak out...

"Okay," I took in another deep breath and said, "I've been held back-"

Steve-O looked at me confused, the look on his face made me talk slower, "-and I'm older than you think I am."

"Oh, okay. So you're like what, nineteen? There's nothing bad about being held back once or twice."

"No Steve-O, it's not like that. I'm..."

"You're what?"

I squinted my eyes shut and uttered, "I'm actually twenty-four." I opened an eye and saw Steve-O gawking at me.

"I know, I'm a freak, it's not what you-"

Steve-O shook his head and opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off by a knocking at the door. He stood and was about to go out of my room when I grabbed his hand and begged him, "Steve-O! Please don't tell any of them! They'll flip out!"

He only grinned and pulled me up to face him. Again, his eyes were looking deep into mine, but this time, I saw a glint of happiness in his eyes. Grinning, Steve-O spoke in a steady voice, "Katie, just relax, I promise I'm not going to tell any of them."

I let out a pent up sigh of relief, but was grief stricken when he added, "You're the one who has to tell all of them. You can't hide it forever."

"But-"

Steve-O cupped my face in his hands, "Katie. No buts. You have to. I'm sure you wouldn't want to keep this burden on your back forever while you're with us, plus, I'll be here to back you up."

I nodded confidently and when he went to go open the door, I just stood there, my arms crossed, wondering what I would have to say.

"Whassup all my party people?! I missed you guys and it's only been an hour or two!" Chris exclaimed and put his arms around Steve-O and I.

I furrowed my brows and walked towards the couch and sat down.

"Hey Katie, are you alright?" My uncle Johnny sat down next to me.

"Yeah I'm fine, it's just-"

"What is it? You can tell me anything." My uncle put his arm around my shoulders and held me close to his chest.

I felt secure in my uncle's arms. The other guys walked into the living room and sat, either on the couch or the floor, looking bored.

"Guys, I need to tell you something."

Steve-O sat beside me on the couch, his shoulder nudging mine. It's like he was saying, You can do it, Katie. I believe in you.

My breath suddenly became ragged; I rubbed my eyes and noticed everyone's face go blurry as well in my vision.
