“So, Kol lied to me?” I raised my brow while looking at Enzo who’s cooking our dinner for tonight. I tried calling Kol but he just kept on declining my calls. I think he blocked me, actually.

“Just to be fair with Kol, I think he did that for us to talk,” he shrugged and smiled at me. I rolled my eyes and shook my head. “He should’ve just told me the truth instead of lying to me!” sagot ko naman sa lalaki bago muling uminom sa juice na inihanda rin nito kanina.

“If he did, I don’t think you will go here, baby. You saw me and Elisha and I think you had thousands of thoughts inside your head, making stories and jumping into conclusions,” Enzo said while chopping the vegetables. Napasimangot ako dahil totoo naman ang sinabi nito sa akin. When I saw him and Elisha, I immediately thought they’re okay and they’re getting comfortable with each other… hindi ko naman maiwasan na hindi makakaramdam ng selos dahil mahal ko si Enzo.

“See? You’re frowning, meaning I am right.”

Tinignan ko siya ng masama bago sumandal at pinagkrus ang mga braso sa may dibdib ko. “You can’t blame me for thinking things, you know? You even stopped your car in front of me! Ano, gusto mong makita na nagseselos ako?”

“I just want to see you. That’s it.”

Natigilan ako sa sinabi niya. Noong tumigil ang sasakyan nito, tama ang hinala ko na nakatingin ito sa akin…

“I tried talking to you, baby. I went to your house, waited for you for hours just to see you, but you’re too hurt to see me,” he shrugged and looked at me. “I don’t have any plans on giving up, though. I just thought I need to give you some time to process what is happening and I know time will come that you will be able to realize you can trust me, and that–”

“I trust you, Enzo,” I cut him off. Nakakunot ang noo ko habang nakatingin sa lalaki. Sa palagay ba nito ay wala akong tiwala rito? That’s absurd! I trust him!

Tumango-tango ng maliit si Enzo. “Maybe you do, baby. Just maybe not enough to let me man up my decisions and believe me that I will fight for you.”

Nawala ang kunot ng noo ko dahil sa sinabi ni Enzo. Kahit na hindi nito sabihin sa akin, ramdam ko ang sama rin ng loob nito dahil sa ginawa ko. I know what I did was unfair, but to my defense, I was doing what I think is the best for him.

I don’t want him to choose. Ayoko na mamili siya sa akin at sa pamilya niya dahil ayoko lang naman na magalit ang mga ito sa kanya.

“I’m sorry…” halos pabulong na sambit ko. Nagbaba ako ng tingin at ibinabaon ang kuko sa palad ko. Kung ibang tao siguro si Enzo, malamang ay grabe ang galit na ipapakita nito sa akin, pero hindi.

He’s Enzo.

Sinusungitan niya lang ako pero hindi niya ako sasaktan.

Naramdaman ko ang paglapit niya sa akin. Inabot nito ang kamay ko at dinala iyon sa labi nito at hinalikan ang kamay ko. “You don’t have to say sorry, baby. I should’ve talked to you prior to that to explain everything to you,” he smiled and kneeled in front of me so he could level his face on mine.

“I’m sorry if I caused you pain the past days, weeks…” sabi nito habang nakatingin pa rin sa akin at hawak ang dalawang kamay ko. He gently squeezed my hand and kissed them again before looking at me. “I know that I was such an ass, too, baby…”
