Chapter Twenty-One: Enj's Announcement

I was home alone today. I sent the kids to hang out, taking the twins along as well. The last time I've done this, Enji popped up. I already finished spring cleaning. There wasn't much to do. I grab some wine and walk into the living room. I sit on the sofa and turn the tv on. There was a breaking news.

"Breaking News right now here on Tokyo Broadcasting Station. There has been word that the number one hero Endeavor has a huge announcement."

"Nope." I turn the channel. Every channel was covering the story. I sigh and decide to watch. Enji walks up to the podium. Everyone starts cheering.

"We love you Endeavor!" He smiles.

"Thank you all for coming. I gathered you all here today to announce that I am officially stepping down as the number one hero." I spit out my wine and start coughing. Everyone gasps and murmurs.

I quickly grab some paper towels and rush back. I place it on top of my spill.

"I should have retired five years ago when I almost lost my family. I was too obsessed with being a stronger hero than All Might. I chased after him all my life. I even wanted my child to surpass him. I still do. But when my first born arrived, I couldn't bring it to myself of causing any harm in order to be the strongest hero. I also said some bad things after we suffered a miscarriage.

I continued to be a pro hero to atone for what I said. I have always put Japan before my family. I've hurt my family five years ago. I abandoned them. Because of my stupidity, I have two new children I know nothing about. I've hurt my children and most of all, I've hurt my partner. The mother of my children.

My best friend who is also the love of my life. I'm going to restore my family and get to know my five year old twins. Starting right now, I care more about my family than Japan. They've always been my priority, but nothing will come before them. My hero duties are officially over. So I am leaving Japan in the hands of someone who has proven to me that they are worthy of being the number one hero. Please give a warm welcome to Hawks." Enji speaks.

Hawks appears on stage and shakes Enji's hand. He walks up to the podium. I pick up the soaked paper towels and toss them. I clean the dried stain. I wash my wine glass. I walk back into the living room and sit. The thought of his announcement ran through my mind as I watch make his speech. Takami Keigo. Better known as Hawks. Rose to be  one of the top heroes at such a young age. Biggest fan of Endeavor who taken down his daddy and thrown him in jail for being a thief. He's a sweet kid. I'm very happy he's good friends with Shoto and offered to take him under his wing.

I get up, deciding on making some lunch. I hear the front door unlock about a half hour later.

"Back so soon?" I ask, while in the kitchen.

I didn't hear a response. I put the bowl down and grab knives. I set them on fire. I walk out.

"You know it's very rude to break in and not say anything. You're fuckin with the wrong one." I call out, heading towards the front door. I start throwing the flaming knives.

"Hey what the hell?!" Enji screams as he ducks. The flaming knives hit the wall.

"Todoroki what the hell?!" I scream back.

"What are you doing here?!"

"I came here to talk to you."

"You gotta stop doing that. I thought you were some punks who tried to rob me."
