Chapter Twenty-Four: Enji and Isamu

We decided to take a day off from Disney theme park. I let the twins binge watch Disney movies.

"Y/N come on. You too Isamu. Vikhyati you can finish the movie." She looks at me. I nod in approval and kiss her head. I get up with Isamu, heading into the bedroom. Enji close the door.

"Mommy said you don't like me."

"I don't." Enji gets down on one knee.

"Why not?"

"You're mean."

"What makes you think I'm mean?" Isamu holds his Hawks and Mickey Mouse toys closer to him.

"Because you yelled at mama. And she said so too." He mumbled. Enji looks at me.

"I wasn't bad mouthing you. I just said you were being mean by yelling unnecessarily." I defend myself.

"I didn't say you were." He looks at Isamu.

"I apologized to mommy for yelling at her." Isamu looks at me.

"Did he?" I nod.

"I wasn't mad at her. I'm jealous. I envy her. Meaning-"

"You had a certain feeling towards mommy for her success." Isamu cuts him off.

"Exactly. She has the luxury, freedom and privilege to take care of you and your twin sister anytime she wants. You two don't know me so you're not used to me. I can't hug you whenever I want without you two being cautious. I'm mad at myself for it. Before your mother and I knew she was pregnant, I left. When your older brother texted me saying mommy was pregnant with you two, I didn't know. Someone got on my phone when I left it unlocked and deleted it. I never knew that you two were going be born."

"Why did you leave?"

"I was stupid. I thought leaving would make things better and when mommy and I had a stupid argument, I took that opportunity to leave." Enji confess.

"Will you leave again?"

"No. Never."

"Will you hurt mommy?"

"God no."

"Will you yell at mommy again?"

"No but she might yell at me." Enji chuckles.

"Do you love mommy?"

"Yes I do. Very much. I want to marry her." Isamu looks at me.

"Do you love daddy?"

"No sweetie she doesn't." Enji replies, causing Isamu to look at him.

"Why not?"

"When I left, it hurt mommy. It also hurt your elder siblings. Over time, mommy stopped loving me."

"So how can you marry someone who doesn't love you?"

"I can't. I'm hoping she will." Isamu turns to me again.

"Will you?"

"I don't know honey. It's not a yes but it's not a no." He turns back to his father.

"And if she doesn't?"

"Then I'll continue to be her best friend and raise you two with her."

"How long did you leave?"

"Five years."
